White Oak Zipline combines the rush of ziplining with gorgeous views of the iconic Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Constructed by a builder approved by the Association of Challenge Course Technology, White Oak’s canopy tour is both exciting and safe.
A hidden gem located outside of Gatlinburg’s vibrant downtown area, this is the place to go when you need a break from the hustle and bustle of a tourist town. Its location slightly off the beaten path may put off some prospective visitors, but others revel in the personal attention and lack of lines. When you arrive at the White Oak Lodge & Family Resort (home to the zipline and family fun center), you’ll be awed by the beautiful views and the serene atmosphere.
Although exciting, ziplining can be a bit intimidating — especially if you fear heights or are completely new to the activity. Whether you’re a ziplining pro or just getting started, you’ll be comforted by the friendly faces at White Oak Ziplines. Staff members are serious about safety and will happily provide all the information needed to ensure a safe, yet fun experience. They’re accustomed to working with beginners and will not make you feel foolish if you ask basic questions.
The canopy tour progresses from shorter, easier lines at low heights to higher and more difficult adventures in hopes of helping newbies grow accustomed over time. White Oak maintains a strict “challenge by choice” philosophy in which you are never required to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. If you’re ready to stop, just let a staff member know, and you’ll be fully supported in your decision — and congratulated for your progress on the course.
Not in the mood for ziplining? No worries — despite its name, White Oak Ziplines offers other activities. Many visitors arrive in hopes of experiencing the joy of horseback riding, or getting their thrill on via whitewater rafting.
A few of our favorite activities include the following:
This adventure park is named for its ziplines, so it’s not worth missing out on its crowning achievement. The extensive course at White Oak features over a half mile of zipping excitement. Each stop has a unique name; examples include Mama Bear, Truck Stop, and Mother Ship. During your zipline adventure, you’ll observe Smoky Mountain scenery from a whole new perspective.
Although not the primary attraction at White Oak, a horseback riding trip is absolutely worth reserving. It’s a different type of adventure, but just as thrilling.
On hot summer days, there’s nothing quite like whitewater rafting for cooling off. Your adventure with White Oak will deliver all the thrills you expect, plus the satisfaction of conquering river rapids. As with the canopy tour, guides are trained extensively to ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.
If you’re really craving adventure, feel free to reserve multiple activities within the same day. White Oak encourages you to embrace your inner thrill seeker.
- Although the employees at White Oak do their best to accommodate walk-in visits, they greatly prefer that you book your visit in advance. This reservation-preferred approach allows staff members to provide the personalized service for which White Oak is known.
