The charm of the Smoky Mountains is always on display at Trish’s Mountain Diner, where you’ll find fresh food, cute decor, and smiling faces. While there’s plenty to love about the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg’s downtown area, it’s nice to escape into a quieter atmosphere from time to time — and that’s exactly what you’ll find at this friendly restaurant. It can feel crowded at times, but it always retains charming vibes.

Entrees at this diner tend to be simple, but that doesn’t make them any less delicious. The restaurant serves a lot of breakfast basics, as well as great sandwiches. The portions are nearly always sizable, so be sure to arrive with a big appetite — or be prepared to split your meal with a friend. A special menu described as ‘light’ is offered, but it unfortunately does not include the diner’s most enticing meals. If, however, you’re not particularly hungry and you enjoy eating cheese grits, biscuits, or oatmeal, you just might appreciate the light menu. Likewise, you’re free to order your sandwich without sides at lunch.

Like any quality diner, Trish’s serves coffee with unlimited refills. Free refills are also available if you order tea or a soft drink. Otherwise, don’t hesitate to enjoy a glass of chocolate milk or juice with your meal.

No matter what you order, you will be pleased with the friendly and prompt service. Staff members are highly attentive. They make every effort to establish a homey environment.

A few of our favorite menu items include the following:

Pancakes with Toppings
The fluffy pancakes at Trish’s Mountain Diner never fail to satisfy. They are available with or without toppings, but you’ll definitely want to opt for the latter option. Favorites include chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, blueberries, and coconut. If you enjoy all of the above and struggle to choose, you can always opt for multiple toppings for a small additional charge.

Western Omelet
Stocked with all of the best breakfast ingredients, this omelet includes cheese, sausage, ham, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. It comes with your choice of grits or potatoes. You can also choose between toast and a biscuit. Feel free to transform your omelet into a wrap with a warm tortilla. Potatoes can either be included in the wrap or served on the side.

Fried Catfish Sandwich
Lightly seasoned and breaded by hand, the catfish filet on this sandwich will have you craving more. Served on a toasted hoagie, the sandwich also includes lettuce and tartar sauce. It can be served alongside your choice of shoestring fries, straight-cut fries, potato salad, or coleslaw.

Fried Butterfly Shrimp
Fried to perfection, these butterfly shrimp could even make a seafood skeptic happy. Like all lunch entrees served at the diner, this option comes with your choice of two vegetables, bread, and soup or a salad.

Banana Pudding
While your large meal may have you feeling full, you’ll definitely want to order dessert if you’re able to set aside room. A Southern classic, the banana pudding is sure to induce cravings. It is one of several house desserts available at the diner.

Every meal served at Trish’s Mountain Diner is satisfying in its own special way. Stop by at your leisure to enjoy a memorable meal with all of the trappings of the diner experience.

Insider Tips:
– As a seat-yourself type of place, Trish’s offers plenty of options. The outside seating area is lovely when the weather cooperates. Otherwise, many guests enjoy sitting upstairs.
– Between morning crowds and the home-cooked approach, a significant wait can sometimes accompany your meal if you visit during peak hours. Be patient; the half hour you may be forced to wait will prove well worth it once you receive your delicious meal.
