Whether you want to step away from the crowds for a bit or you’re just looking for something a little different in the Gatlinburg area, you’re going to want to put Delauder’s BBQ at the top of your must-try list. This small spot is just a 10-minute drive from the center of Gatlinburg and mere minutes from Great Smoky Mountain National Park, but it feels like a million miles away from the hustle and bustle.

The moment you step inside this restaurant, which is tucked away behind some shops, you’ll feel right at home. Here, you can relax amidst down-home Smokies decor on the walls and pull up a chair next to a family-sized table with a classic red-and-white-checked tablecloth.

While you’re sure to love the welcoming atmosphere and smiling staff members, the real focus here is the smoky barbecue. Start salivating with appetizers like nachos or fried green beans, or skip right to the mains.

Hungry enough to eat a whole platter? We don’t blame you. Dig into a classic like the pulled pork platter, which comes with two sides and a roll, or the back rib platter, which comes with fries or tater tots. If you want to mix and match your meats, try a three-meat platter, which features ribs, pulled pork, and sausage with two sides and a roll. With sides ranging from potato salad and coleslaw to baked beans and fried okra, you’re sure to find a combo you love.

Starving for a sandwich or a signature Delauder’s dish? Go for the pulled pork sandwich, which comes piled high with smoky pulled pork and your choice of toppings.

Take your loaded baked potato to a whole new level with Delauder’s BBQ potato, which comes topped with slow-cooked pork, baked beans, and nacho cheese.

Looking for a sweet treat to complete your meal? Be sure to ask about the local sweets on the menu, and then work off your meal with a stroll through the charming galleries and shops nearby.

If you’re planning to enjoy a meal near closing time, note that Delauder’s BBQ doesn’t necessarily have an unlimited supply of all menu items on hand. This small barbecue joint does its best to keep food fresh by making a limited amount of meats and sides each day. That means one or more menu items might be sold out by the time you arrive.

If you have your heart set on anything in particular, our advice is to arrive at Delauder’s BBQ as early as possible. In fact, you might even want to line up before this popular barbecue spot opens in the morning!
