Pho-tastic is how you just might describe My Pho of Boone, a Vietnamese-inspired restaurant located on King Street in Boone, North Carolina. The star dish of this dining establishment is Pho, a little name for a traditional Vietnamese soup consisting of delicious broth rice noodles, and meat served with a variety of veggies, herbs, and garnishes. The flavor combination is so fantastic and fulfilling and warms you up from the inside out. The deep rich broth and perfectly cooked ingredients are tremendous and something you simply have to try.

A bit of history for starters. Pho is a dish that Asians, particularly Vietnamese folks have enjoyed for many generations. The combo of bone broth, exotic spices, and aromatics is famous for the dish’s restorative, healthy reputation. Cinnamon sticks, star anise, and peppercorns all blend together to maintain a beautiful clear broth and amazing flavors. Starting to get the flavor picture?

So how did a Pho Restaurant come to Boone? When the owners realized there wasn’t a restaurant in the community serving Pho, they gave it a shot and opened their doors in 2017. The fast-serving restaurant concept was an instant hit and today folks gather here all the time to get their Pho fix. It is casual, comfortable, and family-friendly. You can either dine inside, or outside, or carry out your meal.

My Pho of Boone is more than a place to get a bite to eat. It’s a fun, energetic spot to learn and experiment with something new. Instantly learn about a different culture, tasty ingredients, and flavor combinations. If you are not sure what to order, ask the friendly servers. They are happy to help you if you are new to Pho. The lemongrass-infused broth is so fragrant and bright. Ordering that dish is a great place to begin. You’ll also quickly see that slurping your noodles is totally acceptable. Whether you prefer chopsticks or a spoon, dig in. There are plenty of napkins!

The menu posted on the wall makes it easy to order, especially if you are new to this special dish. Simply take it one step at a time:

  • Step One: Choose your broth: beef, chicken, lemon grass, vegetarian
  • Step Two: Choose your noodle: rice, egg, clear
  • Step Three: Choose your protein: flank steak, beef meatball, chicken, brisket, tofu
  • Step Four: Choose your veggies: basil, bean sprouts, cilantro. jalapenos, green onion, white onions jicama

Pho isn’t the only delicious selection on the My Pho of Boone menu. Look forward to learning about and enjoying another Vietnamese classic. Banh Mi sandwiches, translated as Vietnamese baguettes are like mini subs with an Asian flair. It’s their delicious take on America’s soup and a sandwich combo if enjoyed with Pho. Freshly locally baked baguettes, and your choice of protein is loaded with jalapeños, pickled carrots, cilantro, whipped mayo, cucumbers, and pate spread. Dig in or dip your Pho.

You’re going to need something refreshing to drink with your meal, so give their intense infused tea a taste. The fruit Tea-zers is how they describe this beverage and are served with apples, strawberries, mangos, mixed jellies, and chia seeds. They also serve Boba tea, a sweet, fruity beverage that includes tapioca pearls for texture and taste.
