- The SmokyMountains.com Local Expert Team

Wahoo Ziplines is a unique adventure company, offering two miles of thrilling zipline rides through the Smoky Mountains. There are no other zipline options of this magnitude anywhere in the surrounding area. With six signature ziplines covering more than 80 acres of land, Wahoo Ziplines has a lot to offer to thrill-seekers.

When you ride a zipline, you’ll wear a harness with a rounded metal attachment. The pulley on the zipline clips to the metal attachment on your harness, allowing you to be propelled by gravity from the top to the bottom of the cable. As you ride, you’ll see gorgeous natural scenery and feel the rush of flying at a high speed over the treetops. When you take part in a Wahoo Ziplines experience, you’ll see views of the forest canopy that you could only see if you were in a helicopter.

The six ziplines available through Wahoo Ziplines vary in length and height, offering enjoyable experiences for visitors of all ages and adventure levels.  The lines range from 40 to 250 feet in height and 900 to 1600 feet in length. The tandem line is especially fun for couples or family members who want to ride together!

No matter which line you choose to ride, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the scenery around you (that is if you’re not too scared to open your eyes!).

All guides working at Wahoo Ziplines have undergone rigorous training and earned certification through ACCT. You’ll go through a brief training before you get harnessed up, and you can always ask the guides questions during your experience.

If you’re planning a trip to the Smoky Mountains, make sure to include a few hours in your agenda to experience the excitement at Wahoo Ziplines. Reservations are required, although they do try to fit in walk-ins. Reserve early to get the time slot you want, as the days can fill up, especially in busy tourism seasons. You may not get the exact time you want, so plan to leave a few extra hours open in your day to accommodate their availability for your group.

They do operate in rain or shine, so all zipline participants will need to wear comfortable footwear, such as hiking boots or tennis shoes, and those with long hair should pull it up in a ponytail–also refrain from wearing any dangly jewelry and skirts or dresses. You will also need to fill out a release form and bring it with you when you arrive for your scheduled time slot. Transportation is available as part of the package.

Important Notes Before You Go:
-If you are pregnant, unfortunately, you cannot ride
– You must be at least 5 years old and 45 lbs to ride; the weight limit is 275 lbs.
