Host Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your reservation 15 or more days prior to your arrival date a voucher for a future stay will be issued by host in the amount of the deposit less the reservation fee for use for a future stay within 365 days of the date of cancellation. If you cancel your reservation 14 days or less prior to arrival you will be responsible for the full reservation amount (you will forfeit the full deposit amount and the non-refundable reservation fee, and shall be responsible for the remaining rent amount and all other applicable charges associated with the reservation). Only the Guest named on the Agreement may cancel a reservation and cancellations must be made by phone call to Hosts Office.
Plans can be changed before 14 days prior to the scheduled check in with no penalty. No changes are permitted within 14 days of check in.

If you choose to cancel or not use your reservation, the SmokyMountains.com Service Fee is always non-refundable.
Unit Pet Policy
This host charges a $50 (plus tax) pet fee per animal staying in pet-friendly rental units. The animal type is restricted to dogs and a maximum of three dogs are permitted. In addition, dogs over 50 pounds are not permitted.
The following breeds are not permitted in cabins or anywhere on the property at any time: Pit Bulls & Staffordshire Terriers, Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Chows, Great Danes, Presa Canarios, Akitas, Alaskan Malamutes, Siberian Huskies, Wolf-hybrids.

Our vacation was everything we needed it to be... Relaxing!! The cabin, the creek, the trees, and the wildlife where everything I had hoped they would be. We will definitely be back.
A Great Place To Stay.

Would Stay Again
While we had a hiccup at the beginning with a delayed check-in time of 1.5 hours and the hot tub at 69 degrees, I contacted maintenance. I was met with a less than compassionate response, in my opinion. But, it was turned around and the hot tub was in fact up to 105 degrees by midnight as they said it would be. We also needed to contact again regarding WiFi and that concern was handled with much more care and concern and was corrected very quickly. Perhaps someone was having a bad day during our first communication but after driving 12 hours and being delayed to check-in, I wasn't having a great day either, as the paying customer I felt my bad day likely should have trumped theirs. While I'm kind of kidding, I really was initially disappointed for how excited I was to get there. I definitely thought I had made a mistake booking with them but gladly I can say they did turn my initial impression around.
All that being said, the cabin was in a great location, all of our concerns were addressed and I would absolutely stay here again. In fact, I have already recommended this cabin and Elk Lodge in general to several of my contacts. I would simply suggest some training on compassion towards traveling folks, especially after climbing a mountain for hours that they may not be used to doing.

Wonderful
The only issue we had was the heat did not work(did not contact anyone because we had the fireplace) and we could not get in touch with anyone for trash pick up. Other than those two issues our stay was wonderful.
Great Location!! Even Saw A Bear.
Enjoyed our stay... great location to downtown and the bypass. 8/10’s of a mile from Ober. Comfy beds, good showers. Really enjoyed having a real wood burning fireplace. Would not want more than 4 people here because it’s a tight space. Limited kitchen utensils available for use. Overall, really good and very clean.
