Description

Bear Cave Haus, a charming two-bedroom, two-bathroom log cabin, is conveniently close to all the attractions Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have to offer. In less than 10 minutes you can drive to downtown Gatlinburg, home to an aquarium, the Guinness World Records Museum, mini golf and a two-floor arcade that the kids will love, among many other attractions. Nearly as close is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You can explore its waterfalls, wildlife, and wildflowers on foot, by bike, on horseback, or even by car. And let's not forget Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area as well as the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop. There really is something for everyone just a few minutes away.

Even if Bear Cave Haus wasn't so conveniently located, it would still be a delightful place to make your home away from home. Its woodlands setting is a joy to behold-and the cabin's huge wraparound deck offers plenty of opportunities for doing so. You can gaze out at the towering oaks and listen to the wrens and larks from the deck's roomy hot tub or while cuddled with that special someone on the porch swing. As you read on a deck chair you can enjoy the mountain breeze rustling through the trees. And you can savor meals out in the fresh air, courtesy of the deck's picnic table. You can even cook outdoors, on the charcoal grill. If you reel in trout from one of the nearby streams, cook it on the grill for a true Smoky Mountain feast.

You can relish the views from inside Bear Cave Haus as well. The great room has a double-height wall of windows that brings the sunshine and leafy vistas indoors. The room also boasts three comfortable couches, so everyone can gather to watch the big game on the large flat-panel TV with cable and DVD player or warm up by the handset stone fireplace. There's a full-size pool table as well-it's almost impossible to be bored when you stay here!

Dining out is often a vacation highlight, but once you see Bear Cave Haus's dining area and kitchen you might decide that eating in is even more fun. The dining table seats six and is roomy enough to host an after-dinner Monopoly marathon or Scrabble tournament. The open, airy kitchen has all the appliances, cookware, gadgets and tableware you need, whether you're hosting a Thanksgiving feast or whipping up morning smoothies.

The main floor's bedroom is both spacious and-thanks to the paneled walls, beamed ceiling and rustic furnishings-wonderfully cozy. Sprawl out on the king-size bed and watch a movie on the flat-screen TV or get lost in a good book before turning off the lights, and in the morning, you'll be greeted by sunshine and birdsong.

The upstairs suite is just as comfortable. As it's the only room in the loft, it offers maximum privacy-along with a log-frame king-size bed and a flat-panel TV of its own. Best of all, the suit has a private jetted tub. When you return from a day on the slopes or the hiking trail, you'll love soothing your tired muscles with a long, lazy soak.

The loft bedroom has its own bathroom, and there's a second full bathroom on the main floor. The main floor can also sleep another four guests, on two sofa beds in the great room. In all, eight people can spend the night.

When you stay at Bear Cave Haus, you'll have a blast taking in all of the local attractions and sights. But you'll also love returning to the comfort, serenity and beauty of the cabin. Sounds perfect, doesn't it? So, make your reservation today, and get ready to make some fabulous memories.

Not the best...

Overall this cabin was pretty nice. There were a few things that would have made this stay a lot nicer. Number one, there are 3-4 lights that are burned out. It’s a little thing that’s just kind of annoying to deal with. Number 2, the downstairs bathroom has a very strong musty odor. And the bath tub downstairs has large brown drip stains all over it. Needless to say no one took a bath there, it was pretty gross. Another issue was the pool table. I understand that in a property like this you can’t expect a perfect pool table. But this one has felt that’s as old as the table and 3 of the rails are totally dead. It makes the game a lot less enjoyable. Other than those little annoyances, this trip was pretty good. Although I’m not sure I would pick this particular cabin again.

Disappointed

the cabin was cossy but it was too dark at night. the shower curtains were covered in, what i believe it was, moled and also the window on the shower at the bottom. the water on the shower would come out stong to the point where at first it would hurt adn then you 'll get used to it and the the water would turn cold. you would have to turn down the temperature on the hot tub outside so the water inside could last hot longer.

Not impressed

I would not stay there again. Needs alot of maintenance work. View is not pretty. Would have been alot better if it was mountain view.

Cabin needs Maintenance attention

The cabin definitely needed some Maintenance attention. 2 floor toilet was leaking down into the kitchen. We had a cockroach in the Downstairs bed. It was not very clean. The oven was dirty there was Food all over the front of the dish washer. We had to fill the Hot tub cause it was leaking. Grate on the fireplace was broke my husband had to fix it. Side door sticks. With amount of money we spent I expected better up keep.

Disappointed

I sent an email to the hospitality email...I come down to Gatlinburg 4 times a year and rent a cabin. I am very disappointed in this stay. The upstairs tub jets had black mold build up and when turned on the mold shot out into the tub. The shower in said tub came out as a trickle of water from calcium build up. The downstairs tub has so much mold build up around it that my mother and father had to go stay in a local hotel because she is allergic to it. It although the shower head had great pressure the tub itself did not drain and you are standing in water up to your calves. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this stay. My family was separated and I haven't had a good bath or shower in a week.

Worst ever TN cabin

First there are two ways to get to cabin, twenty steps or a slippery slope with 4 or 5 steps. Having had surgery three days earlier made for difficult climbing. The main floor bathroom was terrible with mold covering surfaces in and near bathtub. The lavatory had mold at base of the faucet. The refrigerator froze the food ( note attached to fridge door stated to not adjust temp), main floor bed mattress is "shot" you can roll right off. Very uncomfortable! Unable to use 2nd bed due to not able to travel stairs. Main door to cabin dragging badly.
