Mimicking an authentic European bistro, Santé Wine Bar and Tap Room delivers both fine wines and mouthwatering entrees to Asheville’s Grove Arcade. Peaceful, yet inviting, it’s the perfect place to kick back with your best buds or reignite that spark with the love of your life.
Depending on how busy it is when you arrive, you’ll be able to choose from a wide variety of seating options. Make new friends at the bar, enjoy complete privacy in a more secluded seating area, or enjoy beautiful weather on the patio.
Wine is available in splits, piccolos, half, or full bottles. If you’re struggling to choose, you may be able to order a special flight, featuring a selection of the restaurant’s best wines. Although the wine menu primarily features international selections, a few local options are also available.
Struggling to choose the right wine? All servers are experts — and all are happy to provide suggestions. Intimately familiar with the menu, they’ll help you choose the perfect selection based on your preferred food and your unique taste in wine.
Even if you don’t drink wine, you’ll want to check out the menu. Options are split into several chuckle-worthy categories, including ‘Bodacious Bigger Bodied Whites’ and ‘Big Ass Chewy Reds.’
Wine may be the main attraction for most visitors, but ‘tap room’ is included in the establishment’s name for a reason. You’ll be pleased by the variety and the low prices. Lagers, ales, and ciders hail from North Carolina, Maryland, Michigan, the United Kingdom, and Belgium.
Non-alcoholic beverages include multiple San Pellegrino options, Coke or Diet Coke, and iced tea. A rotating selection of desserts is also available — be sure to ask your server for more information. Favorites include hot chocolate cake, key lime pie, and strawberry parfait with champagne custard.
A few of our favorite menu items include the following:
Asher Blue Cheese and Charcuterie
Hailing from the Sweet Grass Dairy Cheese Shop in Thomasville, Georgia, this complex, yet creamy cheese is aged for ninety days. Like all cheese selections at Santé, it comes with olives, toasted almonds, onion and raisin chutney, crackers, and a baguette from Asheville’s City Bakery. In addition to ordering this cheese plate on its own, you can combine with two other selections for a reduced price trio of cheeses.
Healthy, yet satisfying, this popular salad features San Guiseppe soppressatta, feta cheese, banana peppers, olive mélange, and red onion. This enticing combination is drizzled with a house vinaigrette dressing.
BBQ Trout Melt
This Swiss melt features smoked sunburst trout and just the right amount of bacon. It’s served on fresh ciabatta bread from City Bakery. Like all sandwiches, the melt is served with either a green salad or a side of salt and pepper chips.
Ham and Fig Pizza
Santé Wine Bar and Tap Room offers several personal pizzas that can easily be paired with available wines. One of the most unique options on the menu? The ham and fig pizza, which includes figs, prosciutto, and Holly Grove chevre on an olive oil base.
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Sometimes, simple is best. Combine your childhood favorite with an adult beverage. Grilled cheese offerings change every day, so ask your server about the chef’s latest sampling.
Don’t expect huge portions; at Santé Wine Bar and Tap Room it’s all about complex, yet complimentary flavors. Savor your selection alongside your wine.
Tasting events are a big deal at the Santé Wine Bar and Tap Room. Keep an eye on the website’s event page, where you’ll find detailed information about upcoming Flight Nights. A weekly favorite: 10 for 10 tasting, in which you can taste several exceptional wines at a discounted price.
