When you are on vacation, it’s always nice to eat where the locals do. That’s what you’ll get at Copper Crown. This restaurant’s goal is to be a community gathering place in East Asheville. It’s located just a few minutes away from downtown and on the way to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Dinner is available seven nights a week and the diverse menu often changes. Find dishes with influences from the American South, including New Orleans, and Italy. In addition to food, Copper Crown offers signature cocktails, packaged and draft beer selections, and a full wine list.

Both indoor and outdoor seating is available and the outdoor seating is under a covered patio. Reservations are recommended, as the dining spaces are small and cozy.

Copper Crown partners with local farms as much as possible. Plus, this restaurant strives to reduce its ecological impact. For instance, they have a relationship with Acadia Power, which allows for the sourcing of electricity from 100% renewable sources. The owners are dedicated to using compostable disposable products whenever possible and food and packaging waste are composted with the help of Danny’s Dumpsters. Also, Copper Crown recycles their used cooking oil with Blue Ridge Biofuels.

When looking at the menu, you will notice that there are smaller and larger plates. You can order several smaller plates to share for appetizers, but for many, a small plate is plenty of food for dinner.

Here is a look at some of the menu items available at Copper Crown:

Blackened NC Catfish
A larger plate that offers blackened catfish with collard greens, andouille Jambalaya, and honey-tabasco butter.

Pan-Seared Scallops
Find scallops with a Carolina gold rice grit cake, pickled watermelon rind, beet puree, spiced pistachios, and watercress on this smaller plate.

Roasted HNG Farm Pork Tenderloin
Enjoy this larger plate with pork tenderloin, Anson mills cream peas, turnips, blackened blueberries, and feta.

HiFi Burger
This thicker single patty burger includes pepper onion jam, blue cheese, and arugula. You can add seasoned or sweet potato fries for an additional charge.

This smaller plate offers gnocchi, sauteed spinach, three graces of chevre, radish, and poppy.

Arugula Salad
A fresh salad that includes strawberries, candied pecans, three graces farm goat cheese, and strawberry vinaigrette.

Local Mushroom and Crawfish Risotto
Experience this creamy risotto that includes peas and scallions on a smaller plate.

End your meal with a scrumptious dessert. Choices for dessert include chocolate pot de creme, rosemary-lavender-honey flan, and strawberry shortcake.

There is also a kids’ menu for patrons 12 and under. All kids’ meals come with a choice of regular fries or a small salad. Entree choices include a grilled or fried chicken sandwich, burger, fried chicken tenders, and risotto.
