Although Mountain Chick Café began as a quaint donut shop in the heart of Wears Valley, it has quickly become a cozy café serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Within two years of opening their doors, owners, Jeromy and Lesley, quickly discovered locals wanted much more than a donut shop in their midst. They rose to the challenge, overhauling their restaurant to make hot, fresh meals to order.
While they did abandon donuts, their menu still includes many baked goodies that promise to delight the senses. They have scones, muffins, cookies, and more, all made from scratch each day. They even change up their cookie and muffin flavors on the regular, keeping all their loyal fans on their toes. They go beyond baked goods as well by serving up cold wraps, hot sandwiches, and quesadillas.
All their menu items are made to order by Jeromy who tends the kitchen all morning and afternoon. His efforts are supported by Chef Kat who proudly whips up many of the baked goods, including their gigantic cinnamon roll. Lesley proudly greets all the guests, helping them build a fantastic meal and plan the rest of their adventures for the day. Their fantastic teamwork ensures all their guests have an awesome meal and always enjoy their dining experience from beginning to end.
Fan favorites on their menu include:
Humongo Cinnamon Roll
The Humongo Cinnamon Roll definitely makes up for the lack of donuts on their menu these days. This gigantic treat is light and airy inside and smothered in dense brown butter cream cheese all over the outside. If you are not in the mood for a dish the size of your head, elect for the reasonable size instead, though you might regret not ordering the whole thing.
Big Chick Breakfast Scone
The Big Chick Breakfast Scone takes their savory cheddar scallion scone to the next level. They create this dish by slicing the scone in half and filling it with sausage, bacon, and egg. Then, they add a thick slice of cheese over the top of those ingredients to elevate the scone’s rich flavors even more.
If carbs are out of the question, never fear, you can still visit this quaint eatery. Just order up the Keto Quiche over the other delectable treats. Their mega low-carb quiche starts with an eggy base flavored with bold seasonings. To that, they add bacon, sausage, and three kinds of cheese to take the eggs to the next level.
Although the food is good enough reason to visit, many stop in to chill in the peaceful atmosphere while having a quick snack. They keep the dining area low-key to give everyone a place to relax between all their Great Smokey Mountain adventures. You can always count on a warm welcome whenever you arrive plus plenty of great conversation with the owners.
