Description

Pet Policy: No weight limit/2 dog max (Dogs only) If you're looking for a private and secluded cabin in the Smoky Mountains, look no further than The Skinner's Cabin. This charming 3-bedroom cabin is nestled close to Cades Cove, one of the most scenic and beloved areas in the Smokies. Whether you're looking to enjoy the nearby wildlife, hike some of the area's stunning trails, go horseback riding, or explore the historic settlements in Cades Cove, The Skinner's Cabin is the perfect home base for your Smoky Mountain adventure. Up to eight guests can comfortably stay in this cabin, making it ideal for families or groups of friends traveling together. So come on up to The Skinner's Cabin and enjoy all that the Smokies have to offer! Living Room The living room has the feel of a rustic hunting lodge, with wood walls and floor, a stone-trimmed fireplace, and charming deer- and bear-themed decor. Throw yourself on the plush couch or kick back in the comfy rocking chair or the overstuffed easy chair. Watch shows, movies or sports on the flat screen TV. A huge ceiling-height window lets in light and frames the leafy view outside. Kitchen Mosaics of forest animals decorate the cabinet doors and bring a smile every time you use this fully equipped kitchen. With stainless steel appliances, a convenient center island for food prep, and plenty of counter space, the kitchen is ready for adventures in cooking. Bring your favorite recipes, or experiment with locally made sauces and marinades and fresh, local produce from the farmer's market. Dining Area Tucked next to big, bright windows, the dining table is perfect for meals and more. Play a board game or cards here. Check your email while you drink coffee or Tennessee fruit wine. Country-style wooden chairs seat four around the beautiful wood table. Bedrooms The cabin's three bedrooms become your family's personal retreats when it's time to relax. Choose your favorite among the three queen beds: One is a classic four-poster bed, the second a romantic, old-fashioned bedstead, and the third a modern bed in dark wood. The two baths include one trimmed in barn-style weathered wood, with an elegant stone tile shower. Don't miss the bonus sleeping space! This cozy nook high up under the roof holds a pair of pretty, wrought metal twin beds, its own flat screen TV and touches of Southwest-themed decor. Teens and kids will love this hideaway sleeping space hidden above the kitchen! Outdoor Spaces Plan to spend time hanging out on the wonderful wrap-around porch, chatting, reading or just listening to the birds in the trees! Soak in the hot tub to relax after a day of riding, hiking or shopping in nearby Townsend. Spend a morning on the porch swing with your sweetheart, or in the rocking chair with a good book. Fire up the gas grill and toss on steaks, chicken or shrimp. Other Amenities A washer and dryer help you clean up after a day out. A large, private parking area in front of the house has room for several vehicles. High speed Wi-Fi lets you work, play online or research local attractions and restaurants. Local Attractions This is Colonial Properties' cabin closest to Cades Cove, a valley famed for wildlife, scenery and history, within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Horseback Riding, Hayrides and Carriage Rides Cades Cove Riding Stables guides everyone from novices to experienced riders on hour-long riding tours. Not into riding? Try a horse-drawn carriage trip or an old-fashioned hayride. John Cable Grist Mill Watch the water wheel turn at this historic, still operational, grist mill. Cades Cove Historic Buildings This valley is home to the oldest structure in the Smokies, John Oliver Cabin, plus three historic churches and a total of 90 buildings that take you back in time.
