OH the View is aptly named. From the deck and the balcony of the 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom log home you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains, lush woodlands, and seemingly endless skies. No doubt you’ll want to revel in the scenery, the fresh breeze, the singing of warblers and wrens in the morning, and the chirping of crickets and tree frogs at night every chance you get. That’s why you’ll find plenty of rockers, gliders, and tables out there. Start your day with coffee or juice as the morning mist rises from the mountains; end your evening pointing out the constellations in the star-studded sky.
The interior of OH the View is just as serene and inspiring as its surroundings. From the beamed cathedral ceiling to the lustrous wood-planked walls and floors to the picture windows that let you admire the scenery even while outdoors, the home is everything you want in a mountain cabin. Making up most of the main floor is the great room. With a plush sectional sofa and a generous leather armchair, the living area has enough room for everyone to hang out. Watch a movie on the flat-screen TV with cable, enjoy après-ski drinks by the fireplace, sprawl out on the rug with the kids for a game of Candyland: In short, make yourself at home.
The dining table lends itself to board games as well—and of course, to family meals. Eating together is often a vacation highlight, and at OH the View you can dine in casual rustic fashion. At the same time, the open, spacious kitchen is equipped with everything you need to whip up even the most elaborate, sophisticated feast. Appliances, cookware, tableware, plenty of counter space and elbow room: It’s all right here. There’s even a dishwasher, because nobody wants to wash dishes while on vacation. And while we’re on the subject of conveniences, the cabin has its own washer and dryer too.
Downstairs is a den that’s just as inviting as the main floor’s great room. Kick back on the leather seating to watch your favorite shows on the large flat-screen TV or challenge your skills on the multigame arcade. If you’re vacationing with the kids, they can play down here while the grown-ups relax upstairs.
OH the View has 3 bedrooms, one on each floor. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, so you can indulge in a lengthy primping session without a line forming on the other side of the door. The bedrooms on the main and 2nd floors each include a king-size bed and a large flat-screen TV. The downstairs bedroom, with a queen-size bed, opens onto the deck, so you can linger over a romantic nightcap in the moonlight before nestling into bed.
The loft houses a 4th sleeping area, furnished with a pair of twin beds, enabling OH the View to sleep 8 people in all. The loft offers direct access to the upper balcony; the views are especially glorious!
Because the surroundings are so peaceful and bucolic, you can easily forget that OH the View is just a 15-minute drive to the Pigeon Forge Parkway. The parkway is home to numerous attractions, including the Titanic Museum, Dolly Parton’s Stampede, WonderWorks, mini golf, amusement rides, arcades, go-kart tracks, restaurants, and much more. Within a half-hour’s drive are Dollywood, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and downtown Gatlinburg. In Gatlinburg you can visit Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies and the Guinness World Records Adventure, among other attractions, as well as ride a tram over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area.
Whatever your interests, you’ll find plenty to keep you happily occupied when you stay at OH the View. So make your reservation today, and get ready for your best vacation yet!
