Our second honeymoon!!

We had a wonderful, restful vacation at the cabin. We spent our honeymoon here 10 years ago and wanted to relive that experience again. The convenience of a full kitchen allowed us to have two meals in the cabin and one while out sight seeing. Would recommend this to family and friends!!

A cute little cabin

The cabin was cute and looked like the pictures. It was conveniently located about 5-5 miles out of town. Remote enough for privacy and a few beautiful motorcycle drives to and from town. The air conditioning wasn’t in the best working condition, as we had to remove the filter to get any air flow. It looked like it hadn’t been changed for months. The back porch had almost no lights so we never attempted the hot tub because we couldn’t see well enough to check if it was clean. We stayed several days and fortunately we took our own soap because only enough was provided for two people to take one shower. There was an extra roll of toilet paper and two roll of paper towels. But that’s all that was provided. So we had to make a Walmart run to grab detergent, fiseashing liquid. We always carry our own shampoos but s listvof things you will need like extra toilet paper would be nice. The telephone does not call out and cell phone service can be skippy. It was very stormy so we spent of lot of time in the cabin. It was a great cabin to go to for rest and to get unplugged. The bed was fairly comfortable but there is no TV in the bedroom so to watch a movie you have to snuggle on the couch. Over all it’s a cute quite cabin that could use a little love.

Anniversary Weekend and COVID-19

After being stuck at home for weeks due to COVID-19, my wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary by renting Americana, a place we had stayed numerous times with the former rental company. The cabin was unrented for weeks prior to our arrival. We asked for an early check-in, as it was a special weekend. Aunt Bugs assured us that the cabin would be cleaned and sanitized. When we did not get our early check-in, we assumed it to be because they were taking extra steps to prepare for our arrival. Instead, we arrived to animal droppings in front of the entrance door, ashes from the fireplace blown out into the den and on the couch, and a master bed that had been broken and poorly repaired. As I rarely share this kind of information through surveys, allow me to explain why I have this time. I shared these thoughts with Aunt Bugs and have never received a reply. I have no doubt that the people of Aunt Bugs are wonderful people, but their customer service and business management techniques could sure use some polishing.

Needs a update

The cabin is in need of some serious updating . The Bed quilt needs to be replaced along with the pillows . There’ needs to be a comfy chair for the living room so there’s more than just the couch to relax on. The hot tub cover is disgusting and weighs a ton it’s so old. It took me and my husband to lift just one side of it. Other than that it was ok.

First time ever and it was wonderful!

I am a single parent of a 2-year-old with autism. His mother abandoned us over a year prior. This was this first time we were able to get away from it all since. The check in/out staff was very courteous and gave us a welcome packet that helped. The cabin itself was easy to find and was very secluded. Of course, the best part was the hot tub. My son loved to sit on the edge and splash and have fun. The attractions were fine but the cabin was the best. I have been convinced to rent again next year.
