Relaxing

I visited Bear Naked with my family for Christmas. The cabin was very nice and in a peaceful cabin community. The only downfalls were having to drive up the steep hill to park and there was no privacy in the bedroom. Also, even though it didn't bother me, the teens were very upset that even with the wifi, they had no cellular service.

Beware of driveway and entrance

The exterior stairs, driveway, and absence of lighting make this a very unsafe entrance. The railroad tie steps are rotten, uneven, cracked, and have spikes sticking out of them. I fell down them, luckily just bruising and a large scrape. There is no lighting on these. The driveway is very steep and has a huge and extremely deep pothole. When exiting, you have to back through it which is extremely dangerous even with my 4 wheel drive SUV. Your vehicle will be parked on a steep incline. The outside outlets do not work so EV's cannot be plugged in and the nearest charger is a half hour away. The Interior and exterior show deferred maintenance. When I expressed concern at check in over conditions, I was told that the pictures in the listing clearly reflect the condition and they would not refund the rental even though I had fallen. Natural Retreats was unmoved by the fact that I felt unsafe on the entrance and the drive and the first 4 service agents were rude and belittling. It really put a damper on my vacation. This was an expensive rental, about $250 a night, and I expect it's maintenance to reflect that. Given the customer service from Natural Retreats, I will not book with them again. If you are an young and athletic with a four wheel drive jeep, and great night vision you'll be fine. The interior is cute. The loft area and stairs are not kid friendly. Hot tub and washer/dryer work.

Good cabin but we did have a few problems

The stay has been pretty good but there were a few problems we ran into. The freezer leaked water into the fridge so we lost some food due to that, the toaster was busted, a blind was broken, the futon frame and pullout sofa frame were both busted in the middle making for uncomfortable sleeping and the cabin wasnt super clean when we got here and lastly if you have a small car be warned there is a huge hill you will have to up to park and the wifi is only for emails so no streaming if your bringing kids along with you. Although the highlights were that Joan was an absolute pleasure and helped us with as many problems as possible. Plus the cabin has a pool table which was really fun to use and a hot tub that worked perfectly. Everything else worked properly and the cabin looked really nice.

Great stay

Nice place to stay. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The sleeping arrangements were a little lacking as the pull out bed was as you would expect. It would work well for young kids but not with an 6’ 5” 18 year old.

Dog Friendly Getaway

Besides some issues with the parking the cabin was perfect. The place was clean and welcoming. It was a perfect getaway from the every day hustle and bustle. Worked great for us with bringing our dogs with us as well. When we called the office they were friendly and helpful.

Disappointed at Bear naked

The fire place did not work they came out to fix it and he could not repair it but stated it had just been repaired and they were going to have to get them back out there as well as contact us. We never heard back from anyone in regards to the repair. We were there 5 nights 2 were Christmas eve and Christmas night so our expectations of someone coming then were low but when we called on the 26th they did not seem to know anything about it so needless to say it never got repaired. It was a big disappointment since one of the biggest reason's I picked a cabin and not a hotel for Christmas was because of the fire place. The sofa is in such terrible shape I had to put pillows under the sofa cushions in order to sit on it. The cabin is non smoking and it reeked of cigarettes and had not been cleaned very well either. The cabin also sits on a shared 1/2 circle drive that is extremely steep and if someone occupies the nextdoor cabin you have to back up the driveway(we had to the whole time), the pictures are taken in a way to specifically leave out the parking situation. Im not one to bash businesses on line or give bad reviews but I sent an email expressing my disappointment with no apologies or even a response.
