Three Jimmy’s, located in Gatlinburg just off of 321, will make you feel like you’ve found that secret hang out that’s too good to share. With its completely laid back atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food, you’ll be wanting to hang out here all the time.
Three Jimmy’s decor marches to the beat of its own drum. I wouldn’t say there is really a theme of any sort going on in this restaurant -There are tall as well as short tables along with some booths, or you can sit at the bar. Overall, it pretty much feels like a family friendly biker-bar that makes up for it’s lack of proper decor with really great, stick-to-your-rib type eats.
There is a stage on one side of the dining room where live music happens almost every night. They have karaoke often, so if you’re feeling like being a rockstar at some point, head to Three Jimmy’s to “hit them with your best shot – fire away!”. If the weather is nice, take advantage of the patio. Get some great food and fresh air at the same time.
The food is delicious, and if you don’t believe me, ask the multiple awards they’ve won for their good eats. With 99% of the food being made fresh in house daily, there is no question why Three Jimmy’s is a favorite among many. All meat is smoked on site, and all sauces are home-made. The menu has a ton of burgers, sandwiches, and smoked meats to choose from. This place is really a meat lover’s paradise.
If you’re not big on beef, don’t worry, they’ve got you covered too with a nice selection of salads, chicken, sea food, and even vegetarian options as well. If you’re feeling a little on the Italian side, Three Jimmy’s has a multitude of artisan pizzas to choose from. Are you overwhelmed yet? I’ll help you narrow down your choices with some of our favorites:
- The Cuban: Slow-hickory smoked pulled pork, shaved ham, pickles, smoked gouda, complete with spicy dijonaise laying on top all served on toasted flatbread is what you’re going to get when you order this beautiful sandwich. We here love this one. When all else fails, go the Cuban route.
- Award-Winning Chicken Wings- You’ll want to try these finger-lickin’ good wings when you visit Three Jimmy’s. Let’s face it, they’ve won an award for a very delicious reason, so you need to try them. Crispy-fried jumbo chicken wings covered in your choice of mild, medium, hot chipotle, brimstone, or BBQ sauce, all of which are home-made, served with celery and bleu cheese or ranch. Do I even need to say more?
- The Three Jimmy- Since their burgers are also award winning, I feel it is necessary to give a shoutout to one, and of course the three jimmy takes the cake. In honor of the three Jimmys who made this place possible, the three jimmy has three patties, burgundy mushrooms, caramelized onions, Applewood-smoked bacon, and smoked gouda sauce served on a brioche bun. This monster burger is one of our favorites, and will become one of yours too as soon as you take the first bite.
The staff is friendly, and made us feel right at home. Our server was an expert on the food and awards the restaurant had received, and was happy to answer any questions we had. He was prompt when we asked for extra sauces, and never let our glasses empty. The food was good, and the portions were a decent size. Sadly we couldn’t fit in one of the delicious looking desserts after all of the food we ate.
Entertainment at Three Jimmy’s is always in supply. With live bands, open mic night, dance music, and family trivia night, there truly is something for everyone. You can hang out at the full bar and probably make some new friends as everyone drinks, talks, and just has a great time. Check out the Three Jimmy’s website for a calendar with all of the scheduled events to see what’s going on and when to go.
Insider Tip: Parking can get full on the weekends, so you may want to arrive early if you’re there for the live music. Three Jimmy’s serves their full menu for lunch and dinner; lunch is going to be less busy if you’re just going for good food and no entertainment.
