A classic American steakhouse that never disappoints, The Chop House is noted for its mouthwatering steaks, prime rib, seafood dishes, and wine varieties, making it one of the most popular dine-in chains located at Tanger Outlets. Despite its casual dining environment, the food and service are on par with more upscale eateries. In fact, the brand emphasizes its “guest-obsessed service and generous portions” to ensure every visit here exceeds your expectations.

After strolling around the Tanger Outlets for a while, you’re sure to build up an appetite. Luckily, The Chop House is smack-dab in the middle of the shopping complex, making it easy to walk to. There is also plenty of parking near the restaurant for those who just want to come for the food. And, trust us, dining at The Chop House is well worth it!

The Chop House’s Sevierville location was named “2016 Best Steaks” by Mountain Press, with other locations winning local awards for “Best Overall Restaurant,” “Best Special Occasion,” “Best Entree,” and more. What makes The Chop House such an outstanding chain is that it serves only premium, aged, hand-selected and uniquely seasoned steaks and chops. The Midwestern beef is U.S.D.A. prime and choice, and The Chop House cooks finish it in a unique Montague oven that sears in the meat’s natural flavors and juices.

Since chances are good that you’re visiting The Chop House for steak, consider splurging on the tender filet mignon. You can order it plain or seared with a delicious horseradish crust. Another fantastic option is the T-bone, which offers an enhanced flavor like none other. There’s also the classic ribeye, New York strip, sirloin, and filet of beef medallions.

One of the best things about The Chop House, along with its incredible food, is the fact you can customize your steaks. Optional add-ons include blue cheese butter, sautéed onions, burgundy mushrooms, béarnaise sauce, or the chef’s daily preparation. You can even add skewered grilled shrimp or a cold-water lobster tail!

As for the seafood, The Chop House serves up grilled North Atlantic salmon, baked Boston schrod, and homemade blue crab cakes, just to name a few selections. You also can’t go wrong with the pork chops, which are a beloved house special.

Other great things to love about The Chop House are the colossal homemade onion rings and the gigantic sweet potatoes loaded with brown sugar cinnamon butter. You also have your choice of delicious sides, many of which you won’t find anywhere else. These include baked cinnamon apples, parmesan creamed spinach, sweet potato fries, mac ‘n cheese, sugar snap peas, burgundy mushrooms, and deviled eggs. Can’t decide between the sides? Just order the vegetable plate for your choice of four!

Insider Tip:
-Diners wanting to experience The Chop House without having to pay dinner prices should visit at lunchtime. The menu is limited, but you can still order small cuts of sirloin, ahi tuna, crispy pork ribs, and a slow-roasted prime rib sandwich for much less than you can get after 4 p.m.
-During peak tourist season, make reservations. Tanger Outlets can get overwhelmingly crowded and many shoppers decide to eat at The Chop House at the last minute. Calling ahead will help you avoid the lines.
-While The Chop House does provide the perfect ambience for a romantic date night or anniversary meal, it’s equally welcoming to families. The restaurant can also accommodate larger groups as long as you make reservations in advance.
-If you have trouble finding a parking spot, drive around the outer edge of Tanger Outlets. You’ll find parking spaces that aren’t as packed as the central area, and yet the restaurant is still within easy walking distance.
