Description

You'll be sure to have a new "Point of View" after your time at this private, mountain getaway. Located in Wildflower Ridge, a small community off of Chestnut Hill Road in Fairview, experience the perfect balance between a peaceful retreat and a fun-filled vacation. A large deck with multiple sitting areas, a hot tub, and a gas grill will make the most difficult decision of your stay whether to get out and explore or stay in to enjoy all that Point of View has to offer. Only a few steps away from the home is an outdoor fire pit with seating for 7; one lucky traveler in your group will get to snag the custom black bear bench! The main floor of the home has an impressive open-concept kitchen, dining, and living room filled with unique features, including a butler's pantry, dumbwaiter system, and custom doors throughout, all of which are original to the home. The primary bedroom with a king-size bed, deck access, and en suite bathroom with a jetted soaking tub and walk-in shower creates a relaxing and luxurious feel. The lower level of the home provides additional space with a queen-size bed, a sitting area with t.v. for streaming, a laundry room, and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Upstairs, a spacious sitting area allows your group to spread out for a game night or enjoy recapping the day's adventures. Also upstairs is a full bathroom with hallway access, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a bedroom with a queen bed and full-size bed. Point of View is located in the quiet community of Fairview a quick 20-minute drive from the charming town of Black Mountain and a 30-minute drive from the quaint towns of Lake Lure & Chimney Rock. In Fairview, you'll find local favorite, Hickory Nut Gap Farm, which is best known for its meat supply to the finest farm-to-table restaurants in the Asheville area and as a stop along the WNC Cheese Trail. If your heart "melts" for cheese, Looking Glass Creamery is another amazing destination along the WNC Cheese Trail where you can sample homemade cheese and “Carmoolita” caramel paired with a glass of wine. For more farm fun, visit the sustainable Flying Cloud Farm just 15 minutes away, where you can treat yourself to a vibrant U-pick bouquet of native flowers & a bushel of fresh berries. Once you've had your fill of country living, travel into the city to enjoy the shopping, attractions, and art scene that characterize the mountains of WNC. For area hiking, check out Bearwallow Mountain trail just a 30-minute drive from Point of View. This easy 1-mile hike reaches a grassy meadow at its summit and features a nearly 360° view that includes Mt. Mitchell and Mt. Pisgah. You'll love strolling through the wildflowers & picnicking alongside the grazing cattle that call this mountaintop home. After your hike, reward yourself with a cold beer from Whistlehop Brewing Co. just 15 minutes from home. Nestled on 3 acres, this family & pet-friendly train-themed taproom offers a 6-hole mini-golf course and tons of fun games and activities to enjoy along with a selection of rotating food trucks. Also nearby is Turgua Brewing, which is situated beside Cane Creek and offers live music to enjoy while sipping on their craft ciders, meads, or ales. Keep in mind that no trip to the mountains of Western North Carolina is complete without experiencing the “Paris of the South,” Asheville, just 25 minutes away. Make sure your explorations include an art crawl in the hip and ever-eccentric River Arts District, a drive along the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway, a stroll through the landscaped gardens of the North Carolina Arboretum, and a tour of America's Largest Home , the Biltmore Estate. Asheville is also home to a large number of award-winning restaurants and breweries that you can sample between all of your exciting activities! Please Note: This home allows up to 2 dogs of 50 lbs or less with an additional $100 per pet fee.
