Host Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your reservation 15 or more days prior to your arrival date a voucher for a future stay will be issued by host in the amount of the deposit less the reservation fee for use for a future stay within 365 days of the date of cancellation. If you cancel your reservation 14 days or less prior to arrival you will be responsible for the full reservation amount (you will forfeit the full deposit amount and the non-refundable reservation fee, and shall be responsible for the remaining rent amount and all other applicable charges associated with the reservation). Only the Guest named on the Agreement may cancel a reservation and cancellations must be made by phone call to Hosts Office.
Plans can be changed before 14 days prior to the scheduled check in with no penalty. No changes are permitted within 14 days of check in.

Super Cute Cabin
Pros - peaceful, comfortable, clean, nicely decorated and supplied, beautiful area off the beaten path
Cons - hot in the loft, cold and pitch black (no windows) in the basement (master bedroom), no Keurig coffee-maker, no shower downstairs, only on main level
Note: Located on very narrow, twisty roads - a little scary and not designed for large vehicles.

No Heat In Bedroom
Got to the cabin temperature outside was in the 40 or so and the bedroom had no heat .
Yes it was fixed the next day but we just about froze. This maintained man came in and turned the fan on full time so that worked. He broke the furnace door and just left it broken.
We have rented from Elk Springs so many times but now they don’t keep up with the cabins.

Faux Luxury
The pictures of this place are beautiful, but it felt like everything was just a façade. Like this place was a quick flip done cheaply. The door to the balcony on the middle floor was broken, which we were informed of the day of our check in, so we weren't able to utilize that space, which is where the grill is and most of the outdoor seating. The hot tub felt like it lacked privacy, being on the deck where just anyone could walk up. The footboard on the bed cracked all the way across the bottom. This place was fine, just oversold for what it is.
Could Have Been Better
My husband and I arrived at 9:30 pm. When we arrived the front door was all the way open. My husband and I was unsure if someone was in the house. It was very alarming. I tried to call the resort’s number, but just got their voicemail. We entered the home and had to check every room and closet to make sure no one was inside. Where the door was wide open there was several bugs in the home. The house was very cold as well.
A few other small things: the jets in one corner of the hot tub wasn’t working, tub faucet hose leaks, one of the microwave under lights was out, lamp light flickers and buzzes in the bedroom, Wi-Fi doesn’t work downstairs in the bedroom, food crumbs on the rugs.
After settling in, we were able to enjoy the soaking tub and hot tub. The water always stayed warm. The fireplace was nice as well. There was several towels and soap provided. We had a nice weekend, but just wished our first night went differently and wished the place was taken better care of.

Unluxe Lodge
Before booking I specifically asked if cabin was located on narrow curvy roads without guardrails and was told it wasn't only to arrive at night to find exactly that, no pole lights either. The cabin itself does not match the pictures it seems much nicer/newer in pics. The hot tub is old we did not use. It is also not on safe deck due to actually seeing first of two bears one cabin over. The worst part was finding a mouse in upstairs bathroom the morning we checked out.I am fully aware the bear is part of nature that I chose to stay in but I don't believe anyone wants to vacation with rodents. On a positive note, while we were lost because I was told there was a sign that says name of property out front (there wasn't) but there is a sign that says Woodlands?? The man I spoke with was helpful enough to get us there. Needless to say will not ever return to this property.
Bad Management Company/Location
We spent 3 of our 4 days at the cabin dealing with the management company. The upstairs balcony door to the kids' bedroom did not have a lock on it, which is very unsafe. We called day one to inform them, the lock didn't get repaired. We were promised it would be fixed first thing the next morning. Came back that night and the door not only wasn't fixed but they left the door wide open all day. It was closed and latched when we left for the day. We called again, they sent another maintenance guy out (he was very nice and helpful) but he showed up just before 11:00PM, which woke our kids up to fix the door. The Cabin itself is nice but the location is horrible. The location very low and surrounded by trees. The wind took out a tree which fell on the cabin and woke everyone up. After the tree hit the cabin, it then fell on our vehicle and shattered our windshield. Also because the Cabin location is so low, the property had trash laying around it at all times. We have stayed with Elk Springs several times prior but this experience was VERY bad. They also have a policy that you cannot speak with management even though I have asked to several times.
