This 3 story, original hand-hewn log fort has been disassembled and restored by the hit TV series Barnwood Builders, and placed on a peninsula on Lake Lure. The renovation of Russell's Fort that was built in 1775, involved updating the home with all the modern amenities and latest technology, but keeping all the original historical beauty. The main level consists of the kitchen, which is fully equipped and includes high-end, stainless-steel appliances, and a custom made breakfast table. The living room with cathedral ceilings and a large screen tv over the fireplace is the perfect place to gather. A large dining table with seating for up to 10 overlooks the lake through the French doors. Step out onto the deck for additional dining space with seating for 8 and take in the view of the lake and mountains. There is also a sitting room with reclining sofa chairs on the main floor that is perfect for reading while enjoying views of the lake. With four bedrooms and four and a half baths, there will be plenty of room for up to 10 guests. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom. Three guest rooms are on the third level, the fourth is on the lower level with a huge queen size bunk bed. A second living room with a big screen tv is on the lower level along with a private deck and hot tub. You have private lake front access with outdoor toys to enjoy fun on the lake. Also available for rent for an additional fee is a pontoon boat.
