When you’re looking to get outside and play, the 118-acre Wear Farm City Park is ready to help. Featuring sports fields, playgrounds, pavilions, and more, this is the perfect location for family reunions, tournaments, and afternoons when you simply want to head outdoors and play.

The Perfect Place for Sports
No matter what type of sport you’re into, you’re likely to find the field or court you need for playing it at Wear Farm City Park. There are five lighted baseball fields at the park. The main baseball complex has four of these fields, and there’s an additional field that sits off by itself. Also at the main complex are a warm-up area, batting cages, a vending machine, a concession stand, and restrooms.

The facilities at these baseball fields are impressive. You’ll find paved and fenced-in dugouts and the fields feature dirt infields and grass outfields. Additionally, each field has a baseball glove tree and baseball bat caddy that make for easy storage during a game.

If basketball is your sport, you’ll find a court situated between the two pavilions at the park. Finally, there’s also a lighted football field and a multi-purpose field. For young children, there are two playgrounds that are sure to offer hours of fun. These playgrounds are equipped with swings, slides, spinners, climbing structures, and more.

Stop by for a Picnic
If you’re searching for the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic, you’ll find it at Wear Farm City Park. There are two paved and fully covered pavilions on either side of the basketball court. Each pavilion includes lights, electrical outlets, 14 full-size picnic tables, and a large charcoal barbecue grill. If you’re having a birthday party, family reunion, wedding reception, or sports team banquet, be sure to make reservations for one of these pavilions. You’ll find there’s plenty of convenient parking for everyone who’s coming.

Go for a Walk
For times when you simply want to get outside and take in the fresh air, head to Wear Farm City Park and take advantage of the walking trail. The trail is around 1.3 miles in total length. It starts at Pavilion Two, goes past the football field, around the baseball complex, runs along Walden’s Creek, heads up the other side of the baseball complex, and finally finishes up back at the pavilion.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxed place to go for a walk, you’re searching for a sports field, or your children need to burn off some energy at the playground, Wear Farm City Park offers many activities to keep everyone in your family entertained.

Insider’s Tip:
