The Pigeon Forge Hollywood Wax Museum, which opened in May of 2012, is one of the more unique attractions in the area. As you drive down the main Parkway, it is nearly impossible to miss the gigantic King Kong scaling the side of the New York City skyline facade. The hilltop building also features a humongous Mount Rushmore replica and a huge Hollywood sign accented with shooting stars. The entertainment complex cost over $15 million to build and dwarfs their previous Gatlinburg location.
Your self-guided tour of this 22,000-square-foot, two-level museum will include plenty of photo ops. Only at the Pigeon Forge Hollywood Wax Museum can you dance with Michael Jackson, walk the red carpet with Morgan Freeman, hang out with Johnny Depp, and share a bench with Forrest Gump. Best of all, you will have the photos to prove it! Instead of placing the wax figures behind glass, they are out in the open where you can pose with them and touch the interactive displays.
A few of our favorite figures include:
- Tom Hanks
- Michael Jackson
- George Clooney
- Johnny Cash
- Dolly Parton
- Charlie’s Angels
- John Wayne
- Marilyn Monroe
- Tom Cruise
- Johnny Depp
- Lucy Lui
- Morgan Freeman
In addition to dozens of realistic wax figures, there are interactive games spread throughout the museum. The “Odd Couple” game allows you to pair two random celebrities and see what they have in common. Do you know what Clint Eastwood and Jamie Foxx have in common? You will have to visit the Pigeon Forge Hollywood Wax Museum to find out!
