Timberwood Grill Pigeon Forge: Good Food and Bumping Atmosphere
Local Expert's Rating:
4 / 5
The Bottom Line:

The food at Timberwood Grill is always tasty, reasonably priced, and well-portioned. However, we have found that the service can be hit or miss depending on the time of day and server. On a good day, your food will appear piping hot in 10 or 15 minutes. On a bad day, the food can take longer than 45 minutes to show up and the temperatures might be a little off. If you want truly homemade food with excellent service, head a few blocks down the road to The Old Mill.

The Timberwood Grill, which is located in the heart of downtown Pigeon Forge at The Island, is a stylish new eatery that we have heard mixed experiences about. Although Timberwood Grill has an awesome location, cool decor, and a nice vibe, the food, and service are said to be hit or miss.

Let’s dig into Timberwood’s core values: be nice, be positive, work hard, keep it clean, help others, chase perfection, listen, and have fun. This restaurant wants you to be happy at the end of your experience, with TVs surrounding each corner of the room.

If you find yourself at The Island and hungry for a meal, the following menu stand-outs make Timberwood Grill  worthy of a visit:

Timber Spears (Fried Pickles)
The fried pickles at Timberwood are excellent. They start with a lightly-breaded dill pickle, which is perfectly fried. It is served with a jalapeno ranch dipping sauce that is incredible.

Corn Dodgers
This unique appetizer is a crossbreed of a BBQ plate and a corn fritter. They stuff slow-cooked pulled pork into a corn fritter – this is some heart-clogging Tennessee goodness that is worthy of a try.

Smokehouse Bacon Cheeseburger
It is impossible to go wrong with a half-pound burger topped with thick-cut bacon and cheddar cheese. We recommend pairing it with sweet potato fries.

The Peyco Pete’s Grilled Meatloaf
This homemade meatloaf is topped with grilled onions and served with homemade mashed potatoes. As long as they serve it hot (it comes out cold some nights), this plate makes the visit worthwhile.

Ribs & Brisket Platter
The slow-cooked pork ribs and smoked brisket are quite tasty. We recommend the bourbon baked beans and mashed taters and gravy to go along with this huge meal.

Come to Timberwood Grill and tell us about your experience! Sit in a booth, take in the atmosphere, and order a bite or two while you are staying in the Smoky Mountains.

Insider Tips:
-When the weather is perfect outside, request the outdoor patio. It makes the perfect spot for a meal with a view on a nice afternoon or evening.
-Instead of parking in the satellite parking lot, park immediately adjacent to the restaurant in the closed parking lot. If the attendant tries to stop you or tells you the lot is full, tell them you would like to look for a spot there since you are eating at Timberwood Grill. There is almost always a spot.
