Bella Vista translates to “beautiful view.” When you’re standing on one of the cabin’s rear decks, you’ll understand just how fitting its name is. The views of the Smoky Mountains and the lush woodlands appear to go on endlessly. Whether you’re sitting on a deck rocker listening to the wrens and warblers or luxuriating in the outdoor hot tub, you’ll revel in the misty sunrises, the fiery sunsets, and the star-studded night skies.
Each of Bella Vista’s 3 decks spans the breadth of the cabin, providing plenty of opportunities to marvel at nature’s splendor. You can do so from inside the log home as well, thanks to its numerous oversize windows. With its towering cathedral ceiling and sumptuous leather couches, the great room is a comfortable, airy space for taking in the scenery. It’s especially inviting in winter, when the fireplace casts a golden glow over the lustrous wood-planked walls and floor. When you not looking out a window, you can watch your favorite shows on the 52” flat-panel TV with cable and netflix.
The great room also encompasses a dining area and a kitchen. The latter is equipped with stainless-steel appliances, a bevy of cookware and tableware, Keurig to brew your morning coffee, and plenty of counter space so that you can work your culinary magic. Bella Vista has a grill outdoors as well for barbecuing—perhaps trout you reeled in yourself from a nearby stream.
Bella Vista’s lower level is home to the spacious game room. With a pool table, foosball, and an arcade, it offers something for just about everyone. If none of those games appeal, you can sprawl out on one of the couches to watch TV (Netflix Ready) or perch at the pub-style table to surf the web via the complimentary WiFi. Plus the hot tub is right outside on the deck!
Each of Bella Vista’s three bedrooms can be considered a master, with a log-frame king-size bed, a flat-screen TV, and a ceiling fan to help lull you to sleep,. Accompanying the three bedrooms are three full bathrooms, making Bella Vista as well suited for several couples as it is for a family (or two). The upstairs bathroom includes a pampering Jacuzzi as well as a shower.
The cabin also has three sleeper sofas that open into beds for two. The kids will beg to sleep in the top floor loft area, where they’ll find two twin-size mattresses. They’ll feel as if they’re in a private treehouse where every night is a slumber party! All told, Bella Vista can sleep fourteen guests in comfort and style.
Bella Vista is located within the Preserve Resort, itself set atop a Smoky Mountain ridge in serene Wears Valley. When you stay during the warm-weather months, you can swim in the resort’s outdoor pool, unwind in the spa, and laze on a poolside chaise, with the mountains providing a lush backdrop. And any time of year is a good one for taking advantage of the fitness center: Work out on the machines, then treat your muscles to a session in the sauna or the steam room. You can walk the paths of the well-tended resort as well, and hang out at the large covered pavilion, which includes rockers and a fireplace so that you can admire the brilliant autumn foliage, even on chilly afternoons. The Preserve Resort even has its own charming wedding chapel!
While you could happily while away your entire stay in and around Bella Vista and the resort, there’s plenty more to see and do close by. The wildlife, wildflowers, and waterfalls of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are only a ten-minute drive away. The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster and Wears Valley Zipline Adventures are no more than twenty minutes away, and you can drive to the attractions-packed Pigeon Forge Parkway in a half-hour.
