Close to the attractions of both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Cocoa Bear is ideally suited for a family vacation or a getaway with friends. The 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom log cabin sleeps 8 people—and a pet or 2 as well—and offers such extras as 2 large decks, an outdoor hot tub, and a pool table. It’s the perfect place to make wonderful memories with your loved ones.
You’ll be charmed by Cocoa Bear as soon as you pull up to its paved driveway. Set within the 150-acre Bear Mountain Preserve, the cabin nestles among towering trees, with the Smoky Mountains just beyond. You’ll no doubt relish spending time on the covered rear decks. Kick back in a rocker with your morning coffee and watch the mist rise from the mountains; savor a romantic moonlit nightcap before turning in. The upper deck is furnished with a table for 4, so you can even dine alfresco. And for the ultimate in pampering, be sure to luxuriate in the deck’s hot tub after a day on the go. The combination of the massaging jets of water and the fresh mountain breeze is magical.
The great room makes up most of Cocoa Bear’s main floor. Its towering cathedral ceiling, oversize windows, and wood-planked walls and floor set the ideal rustic yet refined ambience. The wood-burning fireplace is sure to be a favorite gathering spot on chilly winter evenings. And any time is a good one to kick back with the others and watch a movie on the flat-panel TV, play Pictionary, or plan the next day’s adventures.
In addition to the outdoor table, there’s an indoor dining table that seats 6 with ease. The kitchen is fully equipped so that you can cook with ease as well. Along with all your major appliances, it features plenty of smaller ones, including a coffee maker for your wake-up cup and a blender for whipping up milkshakes or margaritas. You’ll find a full array of cookware and tableware—plus a dishwasher, so that instead of scrubbing plates, you can head downstairs to the game room. When you’re not shooting pool at the full-size table you can play checkers or just hang out at the game table.
Cocoa Bear has an en-suite bedroom on each of its 3 floors. In fact, a bedroom and its accompanying bathroom take up the entire loft level, offering maximum privacy. In addition to a full bathroom and a king-size bed, each suite includes a TV with satellite channels, a chair for curling up with a good book, and a ceiling fan to help lull you to sleep. (Don’t worry; the cabin has central air-conditioning and heat too!) Have additional guests? The living room sofa converts into a bed for 2. We’ll provide all the towels and bedding you could possibly require—no need to load up your luggage with linens from home. In fact, because the cabin has its own washer and dryer, you can pack especially light… and even return home from your vacation with clean clothing for a change.
The laid-back ease of Cocoa Bear is almost hypnotic; once you’re ensconced among its comforts you might never want to leave. But it would be a shame to miss out on the nearby attractions. Dollywood is less than a half-hour away. So are the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an 8-mile trail of more than 120 shops, galleries, and studios. Also close by is downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Adventure, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, and a tram that carries you over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area.
Whether you want to see and do it all or are looking forward to doing little more than soaking in the hot tub amid nature’s splendor, you’ll love staying at Cocoa Bear. Make your reservation today; we look forward to seeing you!
