Our stay at Papa Bear Lodge
It was a nice cabin however some of the amenities were not in order. It should have been sprayed for bugs. Tubs had lil knats or something crawling in them and they were a lil stopped up. Didn't have extra toilet paper but in 1 room. Ice maker didn't work. One of the pool table sticks was broken which I had to go buy some glue for and it had no cue ball. The couch let out bed was pretty much broken. The whole couch just should've been thrown out. Iron barely worked. Ironing board was not where it should have been. Finally found it last night of stay. Some of the skillets they had were just ridiculously burned up and just should've been thrown out also. I've stayed in smaller, cheaper cabins than this before where everything was in order. I was a bit dissatisfiedWould recommend to others? No
We decided at the last minute to rent this cabin for memorial day weekend just to get away. There were 9 of us with plenty of space. The cabin was beautiful and clean with a wonderfully stocked kitchen...all we had to supply was the food..we had a blast playing pool with the kids and relaxed in the hot tub. It was the perfect weekend.Would recommend to others? Yes
Great for Multiple Families
This 5 bedroom cabin was conveniently located to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and several trails nearby. It was stocked well with all the conveniences we needed in the kitchen. The cabin was plenty spacious that we didn't feel couped up on the rainy days.Would recommend to others? Yes
We loved our stay! The cabin was very well stocked and taken care of.Would recommend to others? Yes
Nice location with a great view of the mountains.
The overall experience was great. The mattresses were very uncomfortable. Had a very enjoyable time visiting Pigeon Forge. Sitting outside and just enjoying the view was so relaxing and refreshing. It would have been a more enjoyable experience if we had been able to have a campfire. I understand policy in it is more of a safety issue in light of recent events, but it would have been nice. WE really did have a very nice time and thank you for allowing us the opportunity to spend our vacation there.Would recommend to others? Yes
Our family rented Papa Bear Lodge for Christmas this year & we had a great time there! It is in a great location & the home is a good size. We had 16 family members there. However, I called for maintenance twice. I spoke to someone in the rental office to have someone plz program the TV in the game room, no one ever came or called. We could not turned the channels while staying there. I called a 2nd time for maintenance & I had the leave a message regarding our garbage. No one ever came to remove it or returned our call. The house really could use a deep cleaning. Otherwise, overall everyone really enjoyed themselves.Would recommend to others? Yes
Everything went very smooth in booking and staying in the cabin. It would be nice to be able to check in without having to go to the main office. The entry would be much better to have an electronic key code on door instead of a lock box.Would recommend to others? Yes

Not worth the price
I have stayed in 20+ cabins in the area, and this by far was the biggest let down. It was $1,100 for 2 nights and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. There is a trash company about 1/2 mile away from this location and at night the odor is absolutely repulsive, you can't have doors or windows open because it will gag you, that was the first thing we noticed. The lock on the front door is very tricky, you have to put the code in 5+ times to get into the door, very aggravating. The deck is very worn and we were actually nervous to go out on it because of the condition its in. The outdoor furniture is all old and uncomfortable to sit on, my 9 yo got a splinter in his leg. The TV's have major problems, all of them (except the Master BR) have error messages and will not play the any channels. It says that the cabin has a dart board, it does NOT. The directions that we had (We came in at 1:00 am) were completely wrong. It says its on the right and it's actually on the left, down a small street that's not even listed on the directions. The cabin does not have the Name sign on the outside of it either, so that made it even harder to find. Overall it was just a big disappointment for the money we paid to stay there. Also, we went out one morning and there was a pack of cigarettes on the chair outside the front door, those were NOT there the night before which really creeped us out, that I know is not Aunt Bugs fault, but still added to our frustrations. At check out I listed all of these problems to the front desk and they said "We have only had the property for 2 weeks, I guess we need to go a little work" they didn't offer any credits or specials for a stay next time, so we will no longer be using Aunt Bugs Cabins.Would recommend to others? Amy, I am so sorry and deeply saddened that your experience was far from satisfactory. We have taken your comments to heart and have alerted the owner to replace the dart board, fix the furniture, and replace the tvs. Our maintenance has worked on the lock and the other maintenance issues, and as for the smell there is a county landfill and if the wind shifts the whole area gets that whiff. Even though locals are used to it we do need to tyr to remind ourselves that visitors are not. Again please accept my deepest apologies and my thanks for bringing this to our attention for us to correct. We hope you will give Aunt Bugs a second chance and choose to spend your vacation with us here in the Great Smoky Mountains. Thanks John
