Not Satisfied

We have stayed in a lot of cabins...this one has brick hard beds, NO internet, no cable, no wine glasses. All for a premium price like you find at Sherwood, only their cabins are actually nice. Also, no privacy built around hot tub.

An Okay Experience

The cabin had its pros and cons. Pros: Fairly clean with good sized rooms. Newer appliances. Good location not far from the action but still away from all the lights and noise of the Parkway. Lots of hot water and great water pressure in showers. Kids loved the game room.Cons: No bedding left for fold out bed (called and had it delivered). Hot tub only heats to 96 degrees and water level too low. LOTS of cabins right next to and surrounding this one so do not expect seclusion. Septic smell periodically in front bedroom *really stank*. NO INTERNET—SERIOUSLY???? it's not 1890 or even 1990; satellite internet is available Aunt Bug!! Mobile data not reliable so we had to go to the local library to use internet. This was in the listing but still very inconvenient and I want to make sure any future renter is aware of NO INTERNET/WIFI. Finally, Need a Keurig type coffee maker, again, it's NOT 1990.Overall, it was an okay first experience with a cabin in Pidgeon Forge but we will likely try a more modern experience (company with updated cabins) next time.

Breathtaking! Relaxing! A nice get away...

The view from our cabin was simply breath taking...overlooking the Smokies, it was extremely relaxing. we sat on the deck and just enjoyed the view, each evening we sat in the hot tub, refreshment and all and just listened to the outdoors. The people who work for Aunt Bugs couldn't be more accommodating. I wish the drive wasn't so far, I would love to come back in the fall for the changing of the seasons.

A Horrible Stay and Waste of Money

We were not informed of how the special worked and that we would be charged for the weekend rate for our entire stay when receiving the fourth night free. We also were not informed about the additional fees. When we called to ask questions about it after receiving the email with the details they were not willing to adjust anything despite their failure to disclose information. We still wanted to have a great time though. However, upon arrival we found the following: food under the cushions, food and sticky on the cabinet fronts and debris in the cabinets, debris in the clothing drawers including the one with the clean blankets, dust and dirt on the floors, hair on the jets of the hot tub, no pucks for the air hockey, no hose to refill the hot tub like specified in the contract so we had to use a two pots, no privacy screen for the hot tub as described, no table on the back porch as described, a broken rocking chair, and the nastiest thing was we found out the comforters are not changed or washed except for one time a quarter (4 times a year) so we slept in a cold cabin. There is nothing preventing a child from going from the back of the deck all the way around to the front where the road is located. The parking was on a hill when we were told it was good for a 15 passenger van. This was difficult. The beds were worse than sleeping on a floor and felt like bricks. There were no curtains and only blinds so you saw every vehicle light. The large windows at the top of the cabin were not covered so the kids couldn't go to bed on time and were awakened at dawn plus it put a glare it reflection of the railings on the tvs during daylight hours. These cabins are in rows one after another and are not private.

Nice Cabin

Nice and clean cabin. Wish there had been more bath towels, only 6 towels for 9 people so I had to do laundry a few times....glad there was a washer and dryer in the cabin! Over all it was good and we would do it again.

Okay

The cabin was beautiful, beautiful area, beautiful furniture, great view. Game room that the kids loved. What did it in for us was the cabin was dirty. Thick dust everywhere, food on the utensils, table was sticky , and upstairs in the game room stuck in a corner was old French fries with ketchup , and I think I even paid a " cleaning fee" . I'm so happy I brought my own Lysol and Clorox wipes. The mattresses were terrible. I didn't say anything about it but my 8 yr old was the first to mention it ;/ if it was cleaner and with new mattresses it would have been a 5 star. This is coming from someone who usually stays in motels so I'm not tough to please. Hope this helps!!

Game room bonus

This cabin was comfortable and cozy we loved the gameroom definitely exceeded expectations. Every cabin doesn't have Wi-Fi. Home away booked my reservation for an additional $44 fee and didn't give me the 3bd with Wi-Fi and game room ( Victoria secret) we spoke about. I wanted a cabin with mountain view this cabin didn't have the view. The cabins were very close together as my neighborhood it wasn't bad but I was going for the breathtaking mountain top view. It took us so long to find which cabin was ours on that street because we arrived when dark and couldn't see the cabin numbers. It would be nice if the porch lights were on prior ti check-in. However, the cabin itself was nice!

Will not stay with this company again!

We arrived and our unit did not appear clean. There was hair in both tubs which says to me somebody did not clean very well. There was dust on the furniture and a water bottle under the bed. Dead stink bugs lying around as if the floor had not been swept. A broken plug receptacle which could be a safety hazard with small children. I went to Kroger and purchasd bathroom cleaner so I cleaned the bathrooms. The company refused to offer any refund and only offered a discount on future stays. We visit this area 3-4 times/year. This was the 1st time we used this company and will not again. Timber Tops is by far superior and we will only use them from now on.

Convenient to Pigeon Forge!

We loved how convenient the cabin was to Pigeon Forge. It was a cute, little cabin. It was clean. The beds were hard as a rock. The view was not as pretty as I had hoped it would be, but other than that, a great place to stay!

James, Thank you for sharing feedback about your recent cabin rental stay with Aunt Bug's! We can suggest to the owners about changing their mattress's in the cabin. The cabins in the Black Bear Resort are very cute and being in a gated community it makes it safe or our guest. We are so happy that you enjoyed your trip to the Smoky Mountains, and your stay at Bear Hug! We appreciate you, and hope to see you for future rentals! Thanks! Tim

A Fun Time In the Smokies

We had a most enjoyable stay at your cabin 275, Bear Hug! The view and the layout was great! The location, 4 miles off a street with lights, was not the best for us. It made us plan our day to be back to the cabin before nightfall as we did norm want to drive winding up the mountain in the dark. This fact did not allow us to attend any of the dinner shows because the earliest was 5 pm. For the younger guests, they would not have given this a second thought but we are 4 Senior Citizens. I did not even think to ask about this since the cabin DID meet all other specific needs, such as 2 bedrooms on the main level, King Size Bed in BOTH BR's, very few steps(6 or 7 steps) to get to the main level! The incline was another option that was not a plus for us, but I did not know to question that as n was so very glad to find the bedroom.bathroom issues. I have a few suggestions to make it a little better for everyone: (1) small tables, or tree stumps, or flat piece of wood on the railing by the rockers to set your drink or coffee down (2) Make a Word Document on bright card stock to post on the refrigerator of all important phone #'s, such as Office, After Hours Emergency, 911 if there is that service in the mountain (3) Also include the physical address of the cabin on this sheet so that it could be pout in the GPS. We "lost" the hand drawn map that we received at checkout and we had to call the office on our way home one evening! I'm sure this physical address was furnished in the material I received, but I did not remember. It was a great time and a lovely facility. I will definitely book again but k now now some additional questions to ask!
