Overall our stay was enjoyable. The cabin was clean, the kitchen provided plenty for us to be able to cook, the hot tub was great and the location was perfect!! A few down sides included the mold on the ceiling and some walls where it looked like water had leaked in. Also, the futon was broken and we were unable to open it to use it as a bed.Would recommend to others? Yes
We had an amazing time. The cabin was beauitiful, clean and quite. We would definitely stay here again I. The future. The check in staff was amazing and gave usvstep by step directions on how to get there.i would definitely recommend aunt bugs shades of the past.Would recommend to others? Yes
Shades of the Past!
Great Cabin. The picture does not do it justice. This cabin was nestled in the mountains. Walk into the front door into living room and kitchen together. Fun decorations. Jacuzzi in master, walk downstairs to the two rooms downstairs with a game room. Rooms are spacious and nicely kept. Great cabin, would def. recommend and stay again. Two porches for looking out. Hot tub on second floor. A bit of a distance from the pool but we didn't have time for it anyway.Would recommend to others? Yes
Thank you for staying with us, and for sharing your experience with us! We are so happy that you enjoyed your trip to the Great Smoky Mountains, and your stay at our cabin rental! We appreciate you, and look forward to your next stay with us!
A little disappointed
The location wasn't bad, just a hilly 1 way made it a little difficult to get around. Pool was way to small for the number of cabins in community. We had mice not just droppings but active mice, had to wash everything b4 using it, also droppings in sleeper sofa, sink in main floor slow drained, and hot tub smelled funny. Lower level bathrooms both smelled like urineWould recommend to others? No
Good place to stay if you will be gone most of the time
Worked well for our family of 4.Kids had the downstairs and we had the main floor. Cleanliness was satisfactory and everything we need in the kitchen to cook two meals a day. Didn't care for the carpet in living room and bedrooms. Location is great if you plan visiting the Smokey Mountain Park frequently and still want to be in town for entertainment. Hot tub had a funky odor after the first two days. Pool was nice to fill in some time with the kids.Would recommend to others? Yes

The house was nice and everything was in working order. We had issues with the layout wasn't very good. The door at the top of the steps opened in front of the door to the 1st floor bedroom door. At the foot of the steps there was a landing with a door on each side into the two downstairs rooms. These doors both opened out onto the landing and into each other. There were only 3 chairs for the kitchen table. We had to bring a plastic chair in from the deck to have 4 chairs. Also, the pool table had been an old coin operated table that had been modified and the coin receiver had been removed. Now when any ball goes into a pocket it is routed to the hole where just the queue ball is designed for making it so you often had to remove several balls to get a certain ball out. It also had a mixture of pool balls with several missing and several duplicate balls which made it hard to play a proper pool game. A set of pool balls if fairly cheap! I would recommend this property but I would make sure they knew my concerns.Would recommend to others? Yes
My family vacation
It was very clean and peaceful. We enjoyed everything about staying here. I will definitely be coming back in the future to stay again. Everything was amazing. The view the space and how nice it was to enjoy family time in such a beautiful place.Would recommend to others? Yes
Great place for family that is close to Pigeon Forge.
We had no problems of consequence with our vacation rental. The only problem with our rental was getting the tv's to work in all rooms. We did call to have someone come out and work on getting the tv's to work with the cable so we could watch tv at night. They did send someone out promptly and got one of the tv's going. The one in the front room they did not get to work though. Other than that everything was as promised. Really liked the location of being so close to the Pigeon Forge area. Dollywood, the Old Mill, and the Island were very close as really was the Smokey Mountain National Park. The drives are steep so would be a challenge in the winter if you stay here, but it is really a quiet place to spend time.Would recommend to others? Yes

Jamie, Thank you for your stay in Shades of the Past! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks, Katie
Aunt BUGS was right.
We were first booked into Pure Pleasure2 which was the size of a small studio apartmemt with no privacy for 4 adults. Cabin had xmas decor mold in master shower and overall dusty. We were moved to Shades of the past and cabin was more spacious but all blankets on beds were dirty and I washed them before getting in beds..especially downstairs bedroom. You could see the blankets or pillow cases had not beem washed. Pillows smelled with yellow stains and stained pillow cases and were flattened like pancakes..pillow cases were huge so they wouldnt stay on. Didn't think I would be doing someone elaea laundry on our vacation! Lady bugs took over and two roaches were in the master bath upstairs. Beds were HORRIBLE..spring mattresses were so hard flat pillows made for a good headache and back ache entire 4 days we stayed. Carpet is old and out dated with humps in carpets and area rug in living room is curled up like a taco salad bowl! Hot tub smelled like dirty water and tell someone to take the hanging racoon down from the beams in living room..really kinda scary seeing a rabid varment hanging from his feet by the beam just tacky and gross. Suede couches are stained amd have odors. Worst 4 days we paid 800+ dollars for..NEVER EVER AGAIN. HUGE MISTAKE. No reasonable parking for larger vehicles like truck/suv..had to maneuver a lot to not hit other cars coming amd going. Please ask owner of the cabin to do some up was a very uncomfortable stay for all the money and time spent. Zero thumbs up.Sincerley...a very unsatisfied customer.Would recommend to others? No
