Description

A three-bedroom chalet-style cabin that sleeps eight, Bear Ridge just might be the site of your best vacation yet. Recently renovated, it sits on three-quarters of an acre of lushly wooded land, providing plenty of privacy and serenity. And because it’s just minutes from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, it’s also conveniently close to all the local attractions.

A huge wraparound deck lets you make the most of the wooded views. You can sit on rocking chairs as you sip your morning coffee and listen to songbirds greet the day, then stretch out on well-cushioned chaises in the afternoon to read or treat yourself to a well-deserved nap. And for true indulgence, luxuriate in the deck’s hot tub beneath a canopy of stars as owls hoot and the mountain breeze whispers through the trees—sheer bliss!

Inside, Bear Ridge is decorated in modern rustic fashion, with log-frame furnishings, restful colors, and large windows that let in plenty of sunshine. There’s enough seating in the spacious living room for the whole family to kick back and watch a movie on the flat-panel TV. And if you need to catch up on emails, you can sit yourself down at the desk and take advantage of the cabin’s free high-speed WiFi—just try not to get distracted from the view outside the window. One of the living room couches, by the way, opens into a bed for two.

Although Bear Ridge is close to a wealth of restaurants, once you see the kitchen and dining area you’ll want to enjoy at least a few meals right here. Nestled in a corner with banquettes and chairs, the dining table seats six, and another three people can sit at the kitchen island, which doubles as a breakfast bar. The kitchen is roomy, open, and fully equipped with appliances, gadgets, cookware, tableware, and plenty of counter space. What’s more, you can rustle up some home-cooked barbecue on the deck’s grill; the fresh mountain air is the perfect seasoning. For dessert, head out to the fire pit and roast marshmallows as dusk gives way to nighttime.

Like the living room, dining area, and kitchen, the master suite is located on the main floor. A great night’s sleep is practically guaranteed here. French doors open directly onto the deck, so you can slip outside for a spot of stargazing before sprawling out on the king-size bed. Or maybe you’d like to pamper yourself with a soak in the en-suite bathroom’s jetted tub. Especially after a day of hiking, skiing, or keeping up with the kids at Dollywood, lazing among the jets of steamy water will feel so soothing. The master bedroom also has a flat-panel TV and a ceiling fan whose gentle breeze is sure to lull you to sleep.

The other two bedrooms are upstairs. The sloped ceilings of these rooms add to the comfortable cocooning ambiance. One bedroom has a queen-size bed, the other a pair of twin beds. Both have their own flat-screen TVs with premium sound systems; the kids won’t give you any argument about heading to bed on time!

Upstairs has a reading nook as well, with generously cushioned slipper chairs that make this a quiet spot for one-on-one chats. Back on the main floor, you’ll find a second bathroom as well as a washer and dryer. Here’s your chance to return home from vacation with luggage filled with clean clothes for a change.

Bear Ridge’s setting is so secluded and serene, it’s easy to forget just how close it is to the area’s attractions. In less than fifteen minutes you can drive to Dollywood, the Gatlinburg Golf Course, the Titanic Museum, and the Smoky Mountain Opry, among other popular spots. Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park & Ski Area is just twenty minutes away, as is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

For the perfect balance of privacy, convenience, and comfort, Bear Ridge is tough to beat. So book your stay today; we can’t wait to see you!

Bear Ridge Cabin Review

Pros- Cabin setting and cabin very appealing. Cons- Driveway was covered in leaves, difficult to determine narrow path especially at night. Personal computer needs to be removed if not permitted for guests! *Suggestion: Nice touch provide local maps and activities on kitchen counter. There's a coffee pot with filters and no coffee, what's up with that??? Too expensive for very "minimal" amenities

Host Response (November 11, 2015):

Thanks for your review and for choosing us on your recent stay to the area! The packing list and FAQ in the arrival emails did suggest that you bring coffee and filters (stated was not provided). I apologize if that could have been communicated more clearly! Based on your feedback, we will be providing the computer password for all future guests. Come back soon!

Good Times

Great location. Few issues, like dried food on the only two bowls in the kitchen, and the drain to the sink and bathtub were clogged. we had to pull someone else's hair out of the bathtub drain. Nasty! other than that I cant complain. I'm not sure if we would rent again.

Love Bear Ridge!

The location was awesome. We really enjoyed the privacy but were glad to be close to downtown Pigeon Forge (6 miles round trip). We played and shopped during the day, came home to a quiet setting and spent the evenings grilling out, sitting in the hot tub and making s'mores on the fire pit. Property management were very professional and kind. I would recommend this cabin!

Smoky mountain vacation

for the most part this cabin had pretty much everything we needed. It was clean on the inside and nicely decorated. The outside needed to be swept and a light fixture had its covers on the floor, not a big problem but it's what I noticed. The children enjoyed the games in their loft bedroom. The location of this cabin is just the right distance away from all attractions...not to far at all! The only serious problem we had with the cabin was some black sediment that was coming out of the sink and bath tub. I called and someone came to check it out very quickly. They wiped it down and ran the water for a few minutes and said the water was crystal clear and ready to use. Later that night I filled the bathtub repeatedly and each time their was black sediment in the entire tub. The water from the sink continued to have the same problem as well. I again called customer service and was told that they were sorry and would call someone to see what they could do about it. I never received a call back. We were not able to use the bathtub for the entire stay which I personally wanted after a long day. The sinks had the same sediment problem so we had to use our own purchased water bottles to brush our teeth throughout our stay. Overall our stay was good even after the water situation.

Nice getaway

The cabin was in a very nice location with the Parkway easily accessible. The cabin was very nice and comfortable in a private setting. There were some small maitenence issues (kitchen sink faucet not secured, plug plate fell off in kitchen, cabinet handle in main bath off, no toilet paper holder in main bath) that could have been better but overall an extremely nice place for the price! My husband was visited by two bears while in the hot tub which was a very exciting experience. As soon as they noticed him they just turned and went on their way. I would recommend Bear Ridge.

Fantastic family vacation!

We had a terrific four day stay at Bear a Ridge. The house was nicely decorated, very clean, & well-equipped with almost anything you could need. The driveway is *very* steep so if you go in the winter, 4 wheel drive might be important. Even though it rained almost our entire stay, we would go back in a heartbeat. 10 min from tourist spots in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, 30 min to wonderful mountaintop parks, one suggestion to the owners...add a door to the second bedroom upstairs.
