Cabin was clean and neat, had most everything we needed. Really enjoyed our stay, but getting to and from the cabin was very challenging. There was not a lot of views of the mountains or sunsets.

With its burnished wood-planked floor and walls, towering vaulted ceiling, and stone-surround gas fireplace, the living area of Bear Bottom exemplifies mountain-cabin charm. Large windows let in the sunshine and the sight of the trees swaying in the breeze. The roomy leather sofa and well-cushioned rocker and armchair invite you to sit back and relax—whether that means watching a favorite show on the large flat-panel TV, curling up with a book, or stretching out for a nap is up to you!
The covered back deck is another fabulous place to unwind. Listen to warblers singing in the morning and whip-poor-wills serenading you at night. Kick back in one of the traditional rocking chairs, or savor the gentle swaying of the deck swing (it’s especially romantic at night, after the kids have gone to sleep). Enjoy your meals at the patio table, and after clearing the table, bring out your Monopoly board or Uno deck and let your family dinner segue into family game night.
An alternative spot for reveling in the fresh breeze rustling is the outdoor hot tub. Located on the side porch, it looks out onto the Great Smoky Mountains. Luxuriating among the steamy, massaging jets of water while watching falcons soar across the sky during the day or listening to owls hooting in the night is certain to be a highlight of your stay.
Back indoors, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen and an eye-catching wooden table that seats 4 people with ease. With its bevy of appliances, gadgets, cookware, and tableware, the kitchen can handle anything from toast and coffee to a Thanksgiving feast.
Bear Bottom has a master suite on the main floor and a 2nd sleeping area upstairs in the loft. Once you step into the master bedroom, you might want to spend your entire stay there—or at the very least, turn in early and sleep late. A wood-clad retreat, it boasts a log-frame king-size bed, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, and its own jetted tub. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a bedroom more blissful than this!
The loft’s sleeping area is just as enchanting, thanks in large part to its sloped, beamed ceiling. In addition to a log-frame queen-size bed and its own flat-screen TV, there’s a comfy seating area and a 2nd bathroom. The upstairs loft is also where you’ll find the pool table; you can wind down with a game before snuggling into bed.
If you have additional guests staying, all you have to do is open the sleeper sofa in the living room, and voilà! a bed for 2. Bear Bottom’s other amenities include a washer and dryer (so you can pack lighter than usual), cable TV, a CD player, and unlimited phone calls throughout the USA and Canada.
And let’s not forget the location, which is as convenient as it is beautiful. All the top attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are less than a half-hour away: the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, Dollywood, the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Loop, the Titanic Museum, golf, fishing, zip-lining, go karts, outlet shopping, an aquarium, shows galore…
So what are you waiting for? Book your stay at Bear Bottom today, and get ready for your best vacation yet. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
