Duck Inn Lodge’s unusual layout makes it especially well suited for 2 families traveling together. The main level has an open-plan living/dining/kitchen area, and the downstairs has a large living room of its own, along with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. One family could make the downstairs its private quarters. Alternatively, the kids from both families could be given the floor as their own dorm; every night will feel like a slumber party!
Both the main-floor living area and the downstairs living room have flat-panel TVs and plenty of comfortable seating so that everyone can hang out together to watch a favorite movie or the big game. The main level’s living area has a fireplace as well, making it an especially cozy gathering spot on a winter’s evening.
Because Duck Inn Lodge is so close to the parkway, you’ll have scores of restaurants to choose from. But when you want to eat in, you’ll really appreciate the cabin’s well-equipped, roomy kitchen. Along with appliances, gadgets, cookware, and tableware, it offers plenty of counter space, including a breakfast bar where friends can help with meal prep—or at the very least, keep the cook company! What’s more, the main level’s wraparound deck has a grill, so that you can barbecue trout you reeled in yourself from a nearby stream… or burgers bought from a nearby supermarket.
The main deck and the lower deck also have patio tables, should you want to dine as well as cook alfresco. Even when you’re not eating, you’ll probably want to spend much of your time on the decks: listening to the birds greet the day with song, chatting with friends among the fresh breeze, enjoying cocktails while watching the sunset over the mountains, luxuriating in the lower deck’s spacious hot tub after a day of skiing, hiking, or exploring every inch of Dollywood.
You can also enjoy the scenery from the game room, located on the top floor. The full-size pool table is the centerpiece of the room, but you can also sit up there simply to enjoy the bird's eye view from the oversized window.
In addition to the game room, the top floor is home to the en-suite master bedroom. The suite has its own fireplace (so romantic!) and a king-size bed from which to watch TV. As if that weren’t pampering enough, the suite has its own jetted tub—now, that’s luxurious!
The 2nd bedroom, on the main floor, also has its own bathroom, along with a queen-size bed and a flat-screen TV. The 2 downstairs bedrooms share a large bathroom; one bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the other has twin-size bunk beds. And if you have still more guests, the sofa in the downstairs living room opens into a bed for 2, enabling Duck Inn Lodge to sleep 10 people in all.
Among the cabin’s other amenities are free WiFi, satellite TV, and a washer and dryer. And because Duck Inn Lodge is part of the Blackberry Ridge community, in the summer you’ll have free access to its outdoor swimming pool, which is only a short walk from the cabin.
Just as important, the lodge is only a few minutes’ drive to the area’s major attractions, including Dollywood, the Titanic Museum, Parrot Mountain & Gardens, outlet shopping, and dinner theaters. Drive a bit farther and you’ll be at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a true must-visit.
There really is something for everyone when you stay at Duck Inn Lodge. So book your stay today—before someone else beats you to it!
