As you drive up the winding road to the 1-bedroom cabin, you’ll be dazzled by the lush woodlands and mountain views. You can glory in those vistas throughout your entire stay: Not only does the back deck, which spans the width of the cabin, look out over the trees toward the Great Smoky Mountains, but walls of windows also let you savor the scenery even from indoors.
The deck is furnished with chairs and a sofa from which you can watch eagles soar through the sky during the day and try to count the stars at night. Perhaps the best place to take it all in, though, is from the deck’s hot tub. The rustling of the breeze through the trees is an ideal soundtrack to a restorative soak among the steamy bubbles.
The lower level is Wine and Roses’ main floor. The furnishings of the living and dining areas are as comfortable as they are elegant. Stretch out on a sofa and watch a movie on the flat-panel TV with cable; enjoy cocktails around the glass coffee table; tuck into dinner at the dining table, the mountains in full view, then after clearing the dishes set up the Monopoly board and let your family dinner extend into family game night.
Of course, to cook up those family dinners, you need a kitchen. Wine and Roses’ kitchen has all the appliances, gadgets, pots, pans, and tableware you could possibly need, including a Keurig brewing system for your morning coffee, a blender for your after-dinner daiquiris, and a dishwasher to make cleanup a snap.
The en-suite bedroom is also on this floor. With a door that opens directly onto the deck, so you can indulge in a moonlight dip in the hot tub before sinking into the luxe king-size bed. Watch your favorite late-night show on the flat-panel TV, then fall asleep under the soothing breeze of the ceiling fan. You’ll find plenty of storage in both the bedroom and its private bathroom.
All these features are more than enough to ensure an enjoyable stay. But Wine and Roses has more delights in store one flight up. A 2nd living room, as spacious and inviting as the one on the lower level, makes up most of the upstairs. Along with a TV, the room has an electric fireplace—a welcome sight when you return from skiing or snowboarding. Another welcome sight is the room’s jetted tub, which offers the same sumptuous views as the outdoor hot tub.
The sofa in the upstairs living room opens into a bed for 2, so that this floor can double as a separate sleeping space for the kids or another couple; there’s even a full bathroom up here, making the upstairs almost like a studio apartment.
When you stay at Wine and Roses in the summer, you can enjoy another amenity: Because the cabin is within the Chalet Village community, you’ll have free access to its 3 pool areas. In addition to pools and patios for lazing on chaises in the sun, they feature ping pong, tennis, billiards, foosball, and other activities to while away the day.
There’s plenty more to do just a short drive from the cabin. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a must-visit. Also nearby are Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, the many attractions of downtown Gatlinburg (Guinness World Records Museum, anyone?), and the 8-mile Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop. Even Dollywood and the shows and shops of Pigeon Forge are just a half-hour away.
Sounds fabulous, doesn’t it? So book your stay at Wine and Roses today, and get ready for your best vacation yet.
