Description
A 1-bedroom log cabin near some of the Appalachian Range’s highest ridges, Eagle’s Nest enables you to experience the serenity of mountain living without roughing it. From the cabin’s simple, spare exterior, you’d never guess its amenities, which include an outdoor hot tub, an indoor jetted bath, a fully equipped kitchen, and antique furnishings.

Two covered porches flank Eagle’s Nest, providing you with panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains and the woodlands. Bring your breakfast out here in the morning, sit back in one of the rocking chairs, and delight in the serenading wrens and warblers. At night head back out with a glass of wine or a cup of tea to listen to the owls as you admire the constellations. And any time of day or night is ripe for soaking in the back porch’s hot tub. The fresh mountain breezes and the sublime vistas will only enhance the relaxing warmth and rejuvenating jets of water… now, that’s living!

The cabin’s interior is conducive to relaxation as well. Burnished wood floors, hand-rubbed log walls, a stone-surround fireplace, and homey, cozy furnishings invite you to kick off your shoes, settle down, and stay a spell. Once you sink into the roll-arm sofa, you may never want to get up! Fortunately there’s a TV and DVD player to watch as you laze. And if you have additional overnight guests, the sofa can convert into a bed for 2, so that Eagle’s Nest can accommodate 4 guests in all.

The cabin is less than 10 minutes away from the restaurants of downtown Gatlinburg, but sometimes dinner for 2 at home is more romantic and relaxing (not to mention budget-friendly). The cabin’s kitchen, though compact, has everything you need to cook up a storm and savor it at the table nestled beside a window: fridge/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, cookware, tableware. And because nothing kills a romantic mood more than arguing about who’s going to scrub the plates, there’s even a dishwasher!

The bedroom is just as charming and comfortable as the rest of Eagle’s Nest. The king-size bed has a Tempur-Pedic pressure-relieving mattress, designed to respond to your every move so that you can relish a truly restorative night’s sleep. As if that weren’t pampering enough, the bedroom also has a large jetted tub. Your weary muscles will really appreciate a long soak after a day spent skiing, hiking, fishing, or simply walking from one end of Dollywood to the other.

Dollywood is only one of the numerous attractions just a short drive away from Eagle’s Nest. The cabin is located within the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an 8-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios, and craft shops offering everything from stained glass to chainsaw art, custom knives to pottery. Also nearby is the Gatlinburg Community Center, where you can bowl, shoot pool or hoops, play racquetball, or swim in the indoor pool, to name just a few pursuits. And let’s not forget the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, historic cabins, waterfalls, and wildlife ranging from black bears to elk.

When you stay at Eagle’s Nest, you can play mini golf one day and standard golf the next, enjoy breakfast in downtown Gatlinburg at the state’s oldest pancake house before exploring the aquarium, tire yourself out white-water rafting or simply spend a day rocking on the cabin’s porch between hot-tub soaks. You’ll have access to just about anything and everything that will make this your best vacation yet… so why not book your stay today?
