Friar's Fifth is what you visualize when you think of a log cabin in the mountains. Friar's Fifth is tucked into a valley in the mountain, just a few miles up Ski Mountain Road and Wiley Oakley. This log cabin is all you think it will be with a covered porch, complete with rocking chairs and a hot tub, native stone fireplace with cozy gas logs and two complete bedroom suites, each with a king bed and private bath. A full kitchen allows you to cook up your own version of country style meals. If you have ever been to the iconic Donut Friar in downtown Gatlinburg, you have experienced this family's hospitality--the fifth child of Friar's founders owns this little gem. If you haven't been to the Donut Friar, make it a point on your next trip to go by The Village, located near the middle of the Parkway in Gatlinburg, and enjoy their delicious donuts.

Host Cancellation Policy

In case of cancellation, there will be no refunds if you are inside your cancellation period.

Cancellation periods are as follows: 1-4 bedrooms require a 30 day notice. 5-8 bedrooms, 6 weeks’ notice. 12 bedrooms, 12 weeks’ notice. If you are outside your cancellation period you will receive a 90% refund minus the administrative fee or 100% credit to another reservation.

If proper notice is not given as indicated, the deposit will be forfeited. You will be allowed to make one change in your dates or chalet at no charge with required notice. After that, you will be charged $ 50.00 for each additional change. No changes are allowed if you are inside your cancellation period.

If you choose to cancel or not use your reservation, the SmokyMountains.com Service Fee is always non-refundable.

Unit Pet Policy

Dogs are only allowed at select pet-friendly homes. Dogs are the only pets allowed and must be registered with the office and weigh less than 30 lbs.

Breaking this policy will require an immediate cancellation of the reservation with no refund, as well as an additional $200 fee. We appreciate your cooperation.
