Chalet A Leconte - Gatlinburg Cabin

We appreciate the numerous text/email messages that were received leading up to our stay; excessive communication is always preferred than being non responsive.

Regarding the overall stay, please read our review carefully with great consideration in order to refer this property. Also note that we are frequent travelers that are accustomed to staying at airbnbs, cabins and hotels.

We anticipated the cabin to be in good order as viewed online. One would assume that due diligence was performed to ensure an enjoyable visit. However not long after our arrival on the property, we received a text & call that the balcony railing needed maintenance and must be done immediately. After informing the caller that we didn't want to be disturbed after a long drive in, they insisted to come by the next morning for a job that would take 10-15 minutes. REALLY?? The assessment of the property should have occurred PRIOR to accepting our payment of the rental property. With that said, here's a list of our issues/concerns/suggestions:

-- The inconvenience to guests with plans of resting after traveling but was faced with the owner insisting to come by with maintenance team to fix the balcony issue.

-- Not feeling comfortable to step on the balcony to enjoy the view that we were hoping to share memorable photos of the Tramway passing by which was part of our decision for selecting this property.

-- Not feeling safe to use hot tub due to the balcony railing issue that was supporting the hot tub area; hence yellow caution tape that was NOT viewed on the website.

-- Suggestion to replace parking area gravel with cement which isn't conducive to non 4-wheel drive vehicles; no pictures of front outside view provided online.

-- Remove tin platter from top of refrigerator to avoid the annoying loud rattling sound during the night.

-- Bedroom outside kitchen- change the bed or block the center bed frame post to avoid jamming t

We decided at the last minute to take a road trip to the Smoky Mountains for spring break. There were a lot of rental houses available given we were less than a week from check-in. We chose this one for the location and weren't disappointed. We had easy access to everywhere we wanted to be.

The house has great views (if you are up early, the sunrise over the mountain is beautiful), the beds were comfy and my kids enjoyed having the downstairs space as their own hang out space.

There are a couple of small downsides I feel I should mention. First, the towels need an upgrade. The ones provided were very small and very thin. Second, the house and the kitchen in particular needs a deep clean. Nothing terrible or anything we couldn't deal with, but you can tell its been a while since anyone really cleaned the space those forgotten spaces, like the utensil drawer in the kitchen.

Overall we really enjoyed the stay and would recommend this place for its location, views and space for the teens to call their own.

I have used your company before for rentals but was disappointed with this particular cabin. It was very dated, the toilet downstairs did not work, and the other bathroom downstairs had a bad smell coming from it. The hot tub outside had jets that did not work, and the others put out very little. Just overall disappointing with what I paid.

This place has it all. It was an amazing and relaxing place to call home for the week. The views are amazing at all points of the day. We even got to see a bear out on the road in front of the cabin. Literally the only negative thing I can say is the turn onto the road is a **** design. Not the owners fault at all but if your going to rent just remember your going to be driving in some steep mountains.
