Get ready for a vacation experience that is literally like no other. Bear View Chalet is truly a one-of-a-kind cabin nestled up in the woods of the Great Smoky Mountains, just a few hundred yards away from all the national park has to offer—yet only a four minute drive down the mountain to all the entertainment on the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg. And—get this—Bear View Chalet is one of the very few cabins in the mountains to actually have a large, safe and secure fenced-in yard to entertain and protect your little ones (both the two and four-legged variety). Just open the door and out they go!

The full-sized kitchen features full-sized appliances and everything you need to prepare full-sized meals to feed your hungry pack after a day of exploring the world’s most popular national park, swimming and playing tennis at three Chalet Village owners’ clubs (included for the length of your stay), or taking in all the entertainment and family fun that Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have to offer.

And they do have a lot to offer—Dollywood Amusement Park, a world-class aquarium, skiing and snow-tubing just two miles away (in season), museums, multiple miniature golf courses and go-karting tracks, shopping outlets, family-friendly dinner theatre and hundreds of restaurants and clubs, along with great live music for which Tennessee is world-renowned--not to mention several trams that offer great aerial views of it all from the highest mountains east of the Mississippi.

Now for the cabin itself: Bear View Chalet is a three-bedroom, two full-bath cabin that sleeps twelve--perfect for several couples or two families vacationing together with their kids and furry friends. Two bedrooms feature queen-sized beds with ceiling fans, and the bunkroom offers a double bunk bed—perfect for the kids. All the bedrooms have HD flat screens.

The living room at Bear View Chalet has a warm, wonderful stone fireplace and big screen HDTV with a sleeper sofa and plenty of seating. The arcade room downstairs also features an HD big screen, fireplace, and another sleeper sofa--along with the awesome full-sized Rush 2049 race car game and a giant screen multi-cade with all your 80’s favorites so you can show off your video game prowess to all in the room.

Spend your evenings at Bear View Chalet on the large upper deck or glassed-in sun porch overlooking majestic mountains, with an enchanting view of twinkling city lights below. Or go down to the lower deck and completely chill out with friends in the large hot tub. Then enjoy the great outdoors, toasting marshmallows and s’mores, tossing back a few as you regale your family and friends with camp fire stories at the huge, well-appointed fire pit, which is protected by a strong, high fence, secure from the local black bears who sometimes drop by just to say hello.

The best of nature, the best of family fun both inside and out—Bear View Chalet is everything you need to create your unforgettable family vacation!

Flea Infested Cabin

I am extremely disappointed with your very poor response when I notified you early Saturday morning that we had bugs in several beds of the Bear View Chalet. Instead of moving us to another cabin, as requested multiple times, your response consisted of making us stay at cabin most of the day while we responded to all the steps you requested to verify our concern. I reported the problem at 12:30AM on 5/18. I called again at 7:00AM to confirm that they message had been relayed from your night operator, and was told that I would received a call from your Gatlinburg office when they opened at 8:30AM. I called again at 9:00AM and was informed that your Gatlinburg office had just then been made aware of our situation. Instead of agreeing to find another cabin, I was asked to send photos of the bugs (which I did by 9:15AM) and was told that we would have to wait for a pest control team to come and survey the situation. They did not arrive until 10:30AM. They determined that the primary concern was fleas, although they also found carpet beatles and millipedes under one of the beds. They also did not come equipped to treat the pests in any way. I called your office again and was told that all you were willing to do was send someone to spray for the fleas (which is not very effective way to treat a flea infestation). A pest control person showed up at 3PM (without the promised prior notification) and spent less than 5 minutes in the cabin spraying a few short puffs from an aerosol can. Basically we lost the ability to leave the cabin most of Saturday, and still your company did not effectively treat the flea infestation. After we departed Sunday morning, we had to go back to our homes and wash all our clothes, wash our pets, and treat our cars and luggage with pesticide to limit the risk of transferring your flea infestation to our homes.

WOuldn't rent again

This place was in need of work: stained carpets, electrical issues, sink leaking, fireplace not working (repaired and stopped ten minutes after repair), cockroaches, mattresses were poor, main level TV had wires hanging (finally got it to work. It did have a fenced in yard area.

We were very disappointed in our stay at Bear view Cabin. Multiple issues, dead bugs (some cockroaches ) on the floors and in the cabinets , the walls were dirty(cleaning would have taken care of that issue ), the screen door fell off of the hinge when we tried to open it, the hot tub did not work (it would not heat up -maintenance came out and the heater is out and he had no replacement ), the beds were not comfortable (you immediately rolled to the middle and for 2 people that is not comfortable, sun room roof leaked.)..lots if issues especially for $900+ dollars for a weekend stay....

Not a good choice

This property is not well maintained. Aside from the fenced in yard, there’s not much positive. The cabin had cockroaches, a leak under the sink, trash outside, a main floor TV that did not work. Only one fireplace worked and, after a repair the second fireplace worked for about ten minutes and quit working again. It also has electrical issues with some things not working and others having added receptacle covers where they really shouldn’t be. Would not rent again or recommend.

I wouldn't do it again...ever.

It would be best for people to ask and understand exactly where the cabin is located and understand the roads/conditions to reach the destination. This made all of the difference for our family and why we cut a 3 night to 1 night stay in this cabin.

Flea infested dump!

Extremely poor maintenance and customer service. The yard had weeds that were four feet tall. When we reported bugs in our beds, they refused to move us to another cabin and insisted we stay there so a pest control company could come and verify the infestation. When their pest control company came and found fleas, they still refused to move us to another cabin. They sent out another person late that day who sprayed a couple of spots for a couple of minutes and left. After we checked out and went home, we had to wash all our clothes, our pets, and our cars to minimize the likelihood that our houses would be infested. The tiny monetary compensation I was offered days later was insulting.
