Want to surround yourself with the beauty of mountain living while being less than 10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg? Then Creekside, a 4-bedroom cabin that sleeps 10, is for you.
Set on the edge of the Ski Mountain resort area, the 2-story home is encircled by decks. Furnished with chairs and tables, these allow you to revel in the fresh breezes, the birdsong, and the sight of the mountains and the sun-dappled trees as much as you’d like. The tram from downtown Gatlinburg to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area runs above the cabin; the kids will get a kick out of seeing it as they play outside. Not only can you dine alfresco, but you can cook outdoors too, on Creekside’s charcoal grill. There’s a 2-person deck swing as well, where the kids can play during the day.
All 4 of Creekside’s bedrooms are on the lower floor, and each has a door that opens directly onto the deck. The primary suite, which includes a private bathroom and a 42” flat-screen TV, is especially romantic. In addition to a king-size bed, it boasts a wood-burning fireplace, perfect for warming things up on chilly evenings. The private Jacuzzi is certain to heat things up as well—and is a pampering treat after a day of hiking, skiing, or horseback riding.
The 2nd bedroom also has a king-size bed and a 42” flat-screen TV. The 3rd bedroom features a queen-size bed and a 37” TV, and the remaining bedroom has a queen bed and a 37” TV. These three bedrooms share 2 full bathrooms.
Upstairs on the main floor is a half-bath, especially convenient if you have additional guests sleeping on the great room’s sofa bed. Oversize windows and a vaulted ceiling give the room an inviting, open ease. When you return from skiing or snowshoeing you’ll love gathering around the wood-burning fireplace. The sofa, settee, and armchair ensure there’s room for the gang to watch a movie on the 45” HDTV, and there’s even a desk where you can set up your laptop to catch up on emails or work. (Creekside has free high-speed WiFi.)
In addition to a table that seats 6, the great room’s dining area has a counter where 4 more people can sit. If you’re vacationing with another family, you can serve the kids at the counter while the adults dine at the table; they’ll love eating “on their own.” Creekside’s kitchen is outfitted with just about all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you could possibly need. And speaking of appliances, the cabin has its own washer and dryer too.
When you stay at Creekside, you’ll have free access to Chalet Village’s 3 clubhouse areas. Each features at least one outdoor pool open in the summer; other amenities include tennis courts and pool and foosball tables. Though given how much else there is to see and do nearby, you might never even have a chance to visit the clubhouses. For instance, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a mere 5 minutes from the cabin. Just a few minutes further, in downtown Gatlinburg, you’ll find Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, distilleries, arcades, restaurants, thrill rides, mini golf, shops, and so much more.
Because this is Smoky Mountain country, in winter we strongly recommend vehicles with 4-wheel drive and/or tire chains. Also bear in mind that the 3-vehicle driveway is connected to the cabin’s lower level via a flight of stairs and a short “bridge” over the petite creek that gives the home its name. That’s right: Creekside has its own burbling waters adding to the bucolic soundtrack! Don’t miss out: Book your stay today.
