Looking for a mountain cabin that has it all? You’ve found it in Bear Crossing. Located just three miles outside of Gatlinburg, the cabin feels a world apart. Views of mountain vistas and forest trees will be the backdrop for what will certainly be your best vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Bear Crossing is a two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom, air-conditioned cabin that can sleep up to six if the sleeper sofa is used as a bed for two. The magnificent view of Mount LeConte that you encounter as you cross the upper deck to enter Bear Crossing will still be visible from your living room. Picture windows bring all the mountain beauty inside for you to enjoy all day long. Your living room also has a stone fireplace, a comfy couch and loveseat, and a large TV with digital cable. You also have a DVD player, CD player and free Wi-Fi.
You could spend your entire Bear Crossing vacation snuggled up in this cozy room, but then you’d miss out on your two decks both outfitted with a porch swing and patio furniture. The upper deck has a gas grill and a hot tub. Imagine the fun you’ll have sipping a glass of wine and gazing at the misty mountains as you soak in the glorious bubbly waters. If the weather isn't good, though, don't worry. Head outside and downstairs to visit your private game room!
Your decks are also great places for morning coffee or an evening meal. No five-star restaurant has a better ambiance than your peaceful view of the Great Smoky Mountains. You’ll quickly discover that everything tastes better when eaten in the great outdoors! For those times when you want to cook at Bear Crossing, you’ll have a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal. Just pick up food at a nearby grocery and you’ll be all set. You can serve all six of your group around your dining table; that is if you aren’t dining on the deck!
You’ll have so much fun exploring this enchanting area. Depending on the season, you can ski, hike, ride horses, fish, and try your hand at white-water rafting. You’ll want to visit Anakeesta in downtown Gatlinburg where you can ride the zip lines, hike a canopy walk, and take a gondola up a 600-foot mountain. Gatlinburg also has restaurants to fit every taste from steaks to seafood to pizza. Without doubt, you’ll want to hike or bike at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There you’ll see waterfalls, native creatures, and beautiful mountain vistas. Closer to Bear Crossing, you have access to the neighborhood pool in season.
When you’re ready to head for bed, your Bear Crossing primary bedroom is a welcome retreat. Your king-sized bed is positioned to give you a great view of the wall-mounted flat-screen TV. You also have a chest of drawers and nightstands with reading lamps.
At the edge of your bedroom is your shower/tub combination. You can hop out of bed and walk right over to the shower. You also have a door accessing the half-bath. In addition to a commode and sink, the half-bath contains your stacked washer and dryer. Having an in-cabin washer and dryer makes keeping your family in clean clothes quick and easy.
The second Bear Crossing bedroom also includes a king-sized bed, dresser, nightstands and a TV in case your guests want to watch a little late night programming.
Guests have their own full bathroom with a shower/tub combination and vanity with storage for toiletries below. Mornings go so much easier when there are multiple bathrooms. There’s no waiting around for a turn in the shower.
If your vacation plans bring you to Bear Crossing in winter, we advise arriving in a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Mountain roads can be icy and snow-packed during winter months. It’s wise to come prepared.
