Description

Whether you're in town with a team that's competing at nearby Rocky Top Sports World, vacationing with friends and family, or on a church retreat, you'll appreciate the comfort, convenience and charm of Rocky Top Lodge. Not only can the six-bedroom home sleep 13 people, but it's also packed with fun amenities such as a pool table, air hockey and a hot tub. What's more, in the summer you'll have access to three swimming pools, and downtown Gatlinburg is only 15 minutes away.

With its wood-planked walls, floor and ceiling, the great room of Rocky Top Lodge is as inviting as you'd expect a Smoky Mountain home to be. In winter the stone-surround fireplace adds to the warm, welcoming ambience. In spring and summer, the ceiling fan brings a breezy ease. (Don't worry, the house also has central air-conditioning and heating.) Stretch out on the sofa to watch TV, kick back in the recliner with a stack of magazines, sprawl out on the rug with the kids to build a Lego fort. You're on vacation-relax however you see fit.

The great room also encompasses the dining area and the kitchen. Given that literally scores of restaurants are mere minutes away, you might end up eating out most of the time. But if you have a hankering for a home-cooked meal, you'll find that Rocky Top Lodge's kitchen has all the appliances, cookware and tableware you could possibly need. The only things you have to provide are food and an appetite.

The home has a second large space where everyone can gather, and it's easily as comfortable as the great room. Rocky Top Lodge's game room includes a pool table and an air-hockey table along with another flat-screen TV and fireplace. There's also a table that's just the right size for playing cards and board games. And the leather couch is an ideal spot for surfing the web on your tablet-the lodge has free Wi-Fi-or treating yourself to a nap.

Speaking of sleeping, Rocky Top Lodge has six bedrooms, each with the same combination of old-fashioned charm and modern comfort as the rest of the home. One bedroom features a king-size bed, four more have queen-size beds, and the sixth has twin-over-queen bunk beds that can sleep three guests. The home also has three full bathrooms, a washer and a dryer for optimal convenience.

Rocky Top Lodge's outdoor spaces are easily as delightful as its interior. From the huge deck you have a view of the Smoky Mountains beyond the woodlands. So that you can make the most of the gorgeous surroundings, the deck includes a table and chairs for alfresco dining and a hot tub. While a soak among the massaging jets of water is a treat any time, it's especially lovely at night among the silvery shimmer of moonlight, with the hooting of the owls as background music.

Because Rocky Top Lodge is part of Gatlinburg's Chalet Village community, when you stay in the summer, you'll have free access to its three swimming areas, each more fun-filled than the next. In addition to pools and patios where you can stretch on a chaise in the sunshine, these areas include ping-pong, foosball and even tennis courts.

What's more, the lodge is just a short drive to the area's most popular attractions. In 15 minutes, you can be exploring the flora and fauna of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Equally close is downtown Gatlinburg, home to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, the Guinness World Records Adventure, restaurants, distilleries, thrill rides, mini golf and more. And in less than a half-hour you can be in the heart of neighboring Pigeon Forge, whose attractions include Dollywood, the Titanic Museum, Parrot Mountain and Gardens and dinner theaters.

No matter why you're visiting the Smoky Mountains or with whom you're traveling, you'll love having Rocky Top Lodge as your home base. Don't miss out-book your stay today. We look forward to seeing you!

Time at Rocky Top Lodge

All in all the stay was great! The house was nice with the exception of being very dark, it could use better lighting in the bathrooms especially. There is a rug in the living area that was very problematic for our group because we had small children who constantly tripped over it because it would not lay flat.

Horrible

Upon arrival we found the house/cabin completely unsatisfactory. The front door lock is not functioning properly. The hot tub, which is advertised to be part of the accommodations, was not working at all. There was no power to it. The electric disconnect is totally unsafe and illegal. Extremely hazardous! Inside I found a not that advised the hot tub isn’t working properly. This was known yet rented to me as in working order. The recliner in the living room area is completely junk. As in falling apart and physically broken. It was propped up against the wall to look ok so clearly the staff was aware. (If the clean). The sliding door to the balcony was off track and not closing. (I fixed myself to secure our personal belongings) The majority of the screens are ripped open with huge holes showing a total lack of maintenance. While sitting on the deck in a chair the chair leg literally dropped completely through the deck due to rotted boards. Another safety hazard clearly. When the maintenance man came to look at the hot tub he got power but it never heated up about 58° and when we got back our door wasn’t just unlocked but standing wide open! Totally unacceptable. The tub on the middle floor doesn’t drain properly and the lower bathroom was NOT clean. This was a horrible experience. I was excited to bring all of my children here to celebrate Mother’s Day for my wife. We rented a cabin in order to down much time together as some live out of state. These accommodations were not acceptable.

Great mountain getaway

Very clean and comfortable. The living area is small but the game room is a plus. I would stay there again.
