A four-bedroom log cabin that can sleep up to twelve people, Tennessee Walt’s is the perfect home base for a dream vacation. Not only does the three-story lodge have amenities ranging from an outdoor hot tub to arcades, but it’s also within a resort with a fitness center and a swimming pool. What’s more, it’s less than ten minutes from the numerous attractions of downtown Gatlinburg.
Two decks, on the main and lower levels, that span the width of Tennessee Walt’s look out beyond woodlands toward the Great Smoky Mountains. You can relish the sight of falcons soaring over the mountains and the sound of songbirds chirping in the trees as you sit in the deck rockers or, even better, laze in the hot tub on the lower deck. A soak in the hot tub is especially magical at night when whip-poor-wills complement the twinkling stars.
Large windows let you admire the view from indoors as well. In fact, while you’re in the downstairs game room, you might want to pull down the shades so that the sunshine and scenery don’t distract you while you’re shooting pool at the full-size billiard table. If pool’s not your game, you can play air hockey, try your hand at the Golden Tee golf game, or play one of the twenty games (Donkey Kong, anyone?) loaded onto the arcade. Or perhaps you want to sit at the pub-style table and play rummy or simply sprawl out on the sofa and watch TV.
For a truly special viewing experience, head into the downstairs home theater. As many as nine people can relax in the cinema-style seats (complete with cup holders!) to watch a movie on the large screen. The kids will especially get a kick out of having their own private screening.
One flight up is the main floor, where you’ll find the living and dining areas and the kitchen. There’s plenty of well-cushioned seating in the living room for gathering around the fireplace after a day of skiing or snowshoeing, or for surfing the web beneath the gentle breeze of the ceiling fan.
The dining area can seat as many as fourteen people at once: eight at the table and six more at the adjacent breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances, gadgets, cookware, and tableware you could possibly need, and there’s an outdoor charcoal grill as well.
The top floor is location of the sleeping quarters, with four master bedrooms. Each bedroom includes a king-size bed, a flat-screen HDTV with a DVD player, premium cable, and a private bathroom. There’s no short straw when it comes to choosing bedrooms; this makes Tennessee Walt’s a great cabin for several couples or families vacationing together. If you have additional guests, the sofas in the living room and the game room open into queen-size beds. What’s more, the main floor and downstairs each have a half-bath, in addition to the four full bathrooms on the top floor.
Tennessee Walt’s is located in the Gatlinburg Falls Parkview Resort, and when you stay here you’ll have free access to the resort’s amenities. These include a fitness center and an outdoor swimming pool that’s open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
The resort’s best amenity, however, is its location. Not only does it look out onto the mountains, but it’s also close to all the area’s attractions. In ten minutes you can drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a true must-visit. In even less time you can get to downtown Gatlinburg, home to thrill rides, the Guinness World Records Museum, an aquarium, restaurants, and more.
When you stay at Tennessee Walt’s you can do it all—or do nothing at all and simply relax in comfort among the mountain breeze and gorgeous views. So go ahead and book your stay today (please note there is a two-night minimum stay). We’re looking forward to seeing you.
