As soon as you arrive at Mountain Perch, you’ll see just how fitting its name is. The three-bedroom cabin really does feel as if it’s perched atop a cliff, giving you the most extraordinary views of the mountains and lush woodlands of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
You can savor the spectacular vistas from the rocking chairs provided outside. During the day the kids will love it; they’ll feel as if they’re soaring over the edge of a bluff. In the evening you and your special someone will love it too: Sitting beneath the star-studded sky, with only the serenading whip-poor-wills as company, is so romantic.
The porch’s hot tub provides another glorious vantage point for reveling in the surrounding grandeur. So does the balcony, outfitted with two rockers, connected to the primary suite. And even as you relax in the main floor’s great room you can marvel at the view, courtesy of a wall of picture windows.
That’s not the only reason Mountain Perch’s great room is so inviting. Anchored by a roomy leather sectional, the living area can comfortably seat the whole family. In winter you can enjoy hot cocoa or Irish coffee by the fireplace. And any time of year is a good one to stretch out and watch a movie on the HDTV with cable and a DVD player.
The dining area, with a table that seats six, is part of the open-plan great room as well as a game area that houses the pool table. And there’s a kitchen too, fully equipped with stainless-steel appliances, cookware, tableware, and ample counter space.
The three bedrooms are upstairs. The primary suite is a true haven. When you’re not curled up in the glider chair with a good book, you can stretch out on the king-size bed and watch TV, surf the web (Mountain Perch has free WiFi), or simply relish the chirping of the crickets and tree frogs outside. The private primary bath is also spacious—to match the grandeur of the rest of the house. Best of all, it includes a large Jetted Tub with its own luscious view.
The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the third features two twin beds. Each of these bedrooms has its own TV. The second full bathroom includes a combination shower/tub. For added convenience, there’s a half-bath as well. And speaking of convenience, Mountain Perch has its own washer and dryer.
Mountain Perch is located in Gatlinburg’s quiet Cobbly Nob neighborhood, which itself is part of a 1,000-acre resort. Cobbly Nob boasts an 18 hole Gary Player golf course, tennis courts and, when you stay here in summer, you’ll have free access to two outdoor swimming pools.

Mountain Perch is also just a few minutes from the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an 8-mile trail of more than 120 galleries, shops, and studios. And only 20 minutes away is downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Adventure, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, thrill rides, arcades, and a tram that carries you over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area.

Then again, you could happily while away your entire vacation simply relaxing at the cabin, luxuriating in the hot tub, marveling at nature’s grandeur, and enjoying each other’s company. However you spend your time here, it’s sure to be magical and memorable. So book your stay at Mountain Perch today… before someone else gets to it first.

Great View & Bear Too

The house was lovely with a fantastic view. Be aware that as of summer 2020 there is a bear that makes an almost daily trek past the hot tub.My only complaint is that it takes for ever to fill up the soaker tub in the master suite due to the water pressure for hot water being a little low. For our group of 5 the house was the right size.

oh the view!

we were so excited upon arrival to our cabin on a Thursday afternoon! the ride up was beautiful and were pleasantly surprised when we got out of the car and saw the property! the view was AMAZING!!! the pictures do not do it justice! but then we entered the cabin. the interior was fair, aging and fairly maintained. some windows were fogged up (moisture between the panes) and an odor we couldn't quite put our finger on. shower and bath fixtures are outdated and were hard to use. oh but the view was SPECTACULAR!! the balcony was very sturdy and provided the perfect place to take it all in(we do wish the chairs were a little more comfortable). on day 3 we figured out the smell! downstairs 1/2 bath smelled as if the sewage was backed up! there is bear activity. came up close and personal to a mamma bear and 2 cubs who visited us daily. the kitchen was well stocked and a fantastic grocery store just minutes away.

Eh It was okay

When choosing this cabin we tried to pick a place close to Ober Gatlinburg. The websit was no help and it ended up being 30 min. From the ski resort. With that being said, the cabin had a great view and a warm feeling to it. The master bathroom had a jet tub, but there wasn’t enough hot water and no where near enough water pressure to fill the tub. I boiled 9 pots of water to HELP fill the tub that was already taking 20 min to get HALF WAY. The master bathroom also had a bud infestation. We had to use the bathroom in the hallway. The hot tub was very nice expect for the fact that they had so much bleach in there, my boyfriends black underwear turned that white/tan “bleached color”. It dried out both our skin and we had to shower and use lotion. Other than that, it wasn’t a horrible stay but I defiantly wouldn’t pay the money that we paid to do so again. Not worth it in my opinion.

Beautiful mountain views

Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The view was incredible and the cabin was very nice. It was amazing to relax in the hot tub after a busy day and just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We took in a lot of experiences around the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area and we will be returning to try many of things that we missed. While the cabin is clean and well stocked there are a few things you should be prepared for. While there are 3 bathrooms, only one has a shower. This made getting ready (with 6 people) in the morning a little more challenging. We only received one tea towel for the whole week. We ate in a lot and since we discovered that the dishwasher produces dirty dishes, we had to wash by hand a lot. I would bring an extra tea towel next time. Finally, and probably most importantly, the beds were extremely hard. We went out and purchased egg shell toppers to make it tolerable. We did leave these, so hopefully they will help out future guests. We still had a fabulous time!
