Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your reservation 15 or more days prior to your arrival date a voucher for a future stay will be issued by host in the amount of the deposit less the reservation fee for use for a future stay within 365 days of the date of cancellation. If you cancel your reservation 14 days or less prior to arrival you will be responsible for the full reservation amount (you will forfeit the full deposit amount and the non-refundable reservation fee, and shall be responsible for the remaining rent amount and all other applicable charges associated with the reservation). Only the Guest named on the Agreement may cancel a reservation and cancellations must be made by phone call to Hosts Office.

Plans can be changed before 14 days prior to the scheduled check in with no penalty. No changes are permitted within 14 days of check in.

Great place for a large group

This was a fun place to stay for our Girl's weekend. The place was spacious with plenty of sleeping quarters. It was a bit rundown and the pictures certainly make it look a bit better than it is in reality. The indoor jacuzzi spa had a issue with way too many chemicals that caused some harm that is hopefully corrected for the next group. I am disappointed that there was no follow up from management about the harm that these chemicals caused. Overall, I would stay their again.

No good experience

All was good.The big problem was the heating. if they know that the property is large as they are not provided with extra heating system; for more than 2 days we could not be on the second floor, we could not sleep in the rooms because of the cold we were doing we had several children and we could not all fit in the living room. We used the fireplace to warm up but it was not enough.

We were unaware that there was an issue for more than 2 days. You did notify us that the heat was not working on the upper level at approximately 9:20 pm on the last night of your stay. We dispatched a technician to go out and assist you. The technician did feel that that area was colder, checked the heating unit, and left heaters for the areas needed. Your comfort is a priority to us. We provide 24/7 guest assistance to ensure any need can be handled quickly. We do, however, have to be made aware of the issue as we had not received previous complaints regarding the heat to this area. We can assure you, this property is equipped with the proper heating system to ensure our guests are comfortable. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience experienced regarding this issue and hope you were able to enjoy your time spent in our area.

Not worth the money

We had a big family reunion where everyone was coming from different states to see eachother and we were expecting a comfortable stay with no problems and we were faced with the opposite. The heater would not work on the first day and everyone had to go to sleep cold. We brought someone to fix it but that didn’t help much and then the next day the lights went out through out the whole house and stayed like that during the night. The water also had issues and it took a long time to fix. The sheets of the beds in the couch were also filthy with yellow spots and an odor. The home was beautiful but all the problems we had to encounter made it very difficult to enjoy and at the price we had to pay it just did not seem worth it.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Anan. We are sorry you were disappointed in these aspects of your stay. We can understand your disappointment, however, would like to add some important details to your review. We do show that the maintenance technician was dispatched immediately upon your report of no heat. When he arrived, he found 5 of the outer doors open. He tested the air blowing out of the vents and it was blowing out at 100 degrees, so the heat was certainly working. The temperature outside was approximately 10 degrees, so with the doors standing wide open there was no way the heat could keep the cabin warm, even though it was functioning fully. He also found that the pipes to the water supply for the washing machine were frozen solid. These are located near one of these open doors. He set up heaters and asked that you keep all doors closed from that point on unless entering or exiting. Even with the assistance of the heaters, it did take 2 days for the pipes to thaw enough for the washing machine to function. We also received multiple reports of a toilet that was clogged. A different technician was able to unclog it, but reported that there were visible foreign objects that had been flushed. We dispatched another technician when you reported no power in part of the property. He did find that it was an issue with the electric company, it was restored through the night. We can understand any type of outage can be frustrating, however, this is something that was out of our control. We are sorry if you found sheets in that condition, as this is unacceptable to us. The cabin was inspected prior to your arrival and only clean sheets were found at that time. We also did not receive any report of this during your stay throughout the many conversations our Customer Service Representatives had with you. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment you felt towards your time spent at this exceptional property and hope you enjoyed your time in our area.

The Magnificent Mountain Viiew Mansion

My family had a great experience at the MVM. It looks exactly like the pictures and video tour. The view of the mountains is so beautiful. There are so many amenities on the property that there’s no time to be bored! We even got some snow on Christmas Eve which added to our fun-filled Game/Onesie PJs Night in the pool house. What a vacay, it was all that and then some!!

Our vacation was hijacked

From the moment we walked in the door the Mountain View Mansion was dirty. The staircase was a great indicator on how well the property over all was cared for. We have rented executive homes before and you understand when their are minor details overlooked. Nothing about our stay was minor. From the stains on the linens, to the filth gathered at the front door and through out the master bathroom floor, to no air conditioning for three days, to the water filter out in the fridge, lights out in the kitchen ceiling lights, to broken window panes, to backed up showers with globs of hair from other guests, to water pouring through the ceiling light in the entry way. I would not want to leave out the smell of a backed up full septic tank while trying to enjoy the deck. Last but certainly not least is the unprofessional manner in which the senior staff chose to handle the situation. While they have not returned our last correspondence, we are not done pursuing the matter.

We are happy to discuss each item and we will continue to rent out this 5 star luxury property and know we will have very few if any issues with future guests given the condition of the cabin. We have had over 1,000 total guests stay at the mansion with very few if any issues. It is our goal to offer a safe and clean stay with all amenities being available such as the pool, TV's, theater screen, fire places, etc. From time to time there are maintenance and cleaning issues that arise and we are happy to address them normally within 30 minutes, as we did in each of the above issues - some of which did happen and most did not. There was a small leak in the bathroom that was remedied and the air conditioning unit did fail. Thankfully this will not happen again as the mansion has a brand new unit. We did provide temporary air and replaced the unit in less than 24 hours. The other items stated simply did not occur and we continue to provide a luxury stay with fantastic working amenities at this cabin. We invite you to speak with our customer service and reservations team should you have questions or concerns as we want everyone to have a fantastic stay at this cabin.

Friends Get-A-Way

We had a great time at the Mountain View Mansion. The view was outstanding. We used the pool house and fire pit every day. We asked for several things (more firewood,clean the pool & fix the dryer) and they were there the same day or the next morning. Very close to the grocery store and downtown Gatlinburg. There were 16 adults and the accommodations worked perfectly - plenty of room. Used the gas grill, smoker and griddle for all of our dinners. Rented 4 seaters, went ziplining, hiked and took a day trip to the Biltmore Estate.

Where do I begin...

Mountain View Mansion was first off...amazingly huge and had all the space we needed for our group(14). I have to say that the overall stay was great. The view was absolutely one of the best I've ever seen in my life! Pure serenity! The separate pool house with full kitchen was super fun and we found ourselves in there almost everyday having a pool party with and sometimes without the kids. So much space to chill, have family time, and alone time when needed. My only reason for the 3 for property cleanliness is because when we first walked in to go up the stairs, the first thing you notice was the painted backing of the steps were dirty.(like scuff marks/dirt marks) Not a good look for the first thing you see when walking in and the price paid. Then once upstairs to check the rooms..all were decent except one with a huge dried stain on the carpet! Last complaint would be us having to clear Cobb Webb's from a lot of places that were in common areas and kill a couple of huge spiders in common areas! We had little kids there and planned on letting them play hide and seek but opted out of that idea after finding 2 too many large spiders. I just feel like for the price the place could've been cleaner. Other than those few complaints....we still had an amazing time using the mansion. We made great memories that our families will never forget. I would still definitely recommend the property. It's simply beautiful...just need that little TLC before the next family stays there.

Being in the mountain, spiders and other critters can be a nuisance. We do make an attempt to clean spider webs during every cleaning but they can literally pop up within hours. About 1 hr after we got there someone came to count how many people were there. She told us someone called saying they had a dirty bedspread (a lie) she was in the house in my bedroom with my belongings by herself. After she left i got a call saying there was at least 24 people in the house and that 6 people needed to leave. I have never had this happen to me and we come to Gatlinburg twice a year. The house and pool house is in need of a deep cleaning. I would stay there again if we had not been treated this way so I would not recommend Mountain View Mansion to anyone. I was so disappointed!

We value your input as it helps to assure that we are always improving. I am truly sorry for the inconveniences you experienced during your visit. However, there are very strict rules on how many guests can be inside our cabins at one time. This standard is set by our local fire department and is in place to protect you. If the level of occupancy is exceeded, our guests as well as our company are at risk to receive heavy fines. We do not want this for anyone. Prior to your arrival our inspector noticed a stain on one of the comforters. She left to retrieve a new one and upon her arriving back to the cabin, your party was already in the cabin. We strive for excellence and making sure everything is perfect prior to our guests arrival is party of that. Your complaint regarding the pool house concerns us as cleanliness is one of our top priorities. I have reported this to the proper department to be addressed right away. Please know that it was not our intention to disappoint you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
