Sunset Chalet - Gatlinburg Cabin

A very quiet and relaxing property. It could use a few small appliance upgrades, but we would not hesitate staying there again. Highly recommended!

Needs more pots, pans, etc. I do all the cooking on these trips & had to improvise or wash bowls in order to prep a meal. Didn't even have a cookie sheet or pizza pan. Need teaspoons. Lower level carpet had big stain in front of bar area. One of the theater chairs (back row against the wall) is in bad shape. Also, projector fan makes so much noise that the volume had to be turned up so loud it gave you a headache. Hard to enjoy a movie. The lower level bedroom is hard to regulate the temp with the current HVAC system. Either too cold or too hot following the posted guidelines.

We loved our cabin, Southern Philosophy and are already talking about staying there again! We had so much fun! No complaints whatsoever!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elk Springs Resort. Southern Philosophy was a beautiful cabin, the pictures don't do it justice. The staff was always available for all our questions. I would highly recommend ESR!

This resort was, by far, THE best resort i have stayed in, since i've been vacationing in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. I loved the view while finding the cabin, i loved the view from the cabin, and i loved the views while driving to and through downtown Gatlinburg. The cabin was extremely clean and very luxurious, pleasing our whole group as soon as we opened the door to the main living room. All in all, this was a very exceptional place to visit, and there WILL be more visits for years to come. THANK YOU!!

Pull out beds need improvement, mattresses etc.

the cabins were very nice, but we had to clean the main living area lots of dirt on the floors from the previous family. Also a lot of thing were broken seating in the movie room, blender in the kitchen, and the cover to the hot tub was ripped, and the home phone and wireless did not work. We called to report the items and the lady we spoke didn't really even seem to care. Also in the middle of the road there is a stump from a tree, during our stay someone from another cabin actually hit the stump and did a tremendous amount of damage to their car, seems like this should be removed and paved over Besides those few things we had a very nice stay, and enjoyed the location a lot. Just wish everything would have been working

We rented 5 properties for 3 nights in the resort for a family gathering. I come to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge at least 3 times a year just to get away and this resort is similar to others I have stayed in with the exception of maintenance. Overall the cabins were "nice" BUT the furnishings and other cabin amenities desperately need to be replaced. PLEASE perform maintenance on ALL cabins. We had to go out and purchase blankets because those provided in the cabins were disgusting. I am not a picky person so if I think things should be replaced, they should. The carpets in most of the rec. rooms need to be cleaned and/or replaced. I am not talking about a few spots, but huge spills that are just grimy. These cabins are way too nice to be maintained this way. Some of the pull out beds were broken, many of the media room chairs needed repair or replacement. I took pictures of all houses before anyone stepped in so I know what they were like before our gathering. I called the front office to complain and a maintenance person was there within 24 hrs; however the beds could not be fixed and the resort did not offer to bring another. We went out and purchased air mattresses. When we arrived there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher from previous guests. There were centipedes in many of the lower level rooms. The refrigerators and bathrooms were not cleaned so we had to clean before we could even unpack. I was very disappointed in the lack of maintenance and care given to these cabins considering the amount of money & time we spent planning this vacation. I have stayed in many cabins in the area for less $'s and this was completely unacceptable...I will choose another resort for our family trip next year.
