Description

Idle Days was designed with one thing in mind: total relaxation. The 2-bedroom, the 2-story cabin has its own hot tub and pool table, plus a covered porch outfitted with rockers, a swing, and a picnic table so that you can spend an entire day outdoors reveling in the sunshine, the mountain breeze, and the singing of chickadees and thrushes. But while its location among old-growth trees provides peace and privacy, it's also just a short walk to swimming pools and only a 5-minute drive to the excitement of downtown Gatlinburg.

The covered porch that wraps around the front and side of the cabin is large enough for the whole gang to congregate. You can cook up hamburgers-or even better, trout you reeled in yourself!-on the charcoal grill then savor it in the cool shade of the porch while gazing out onto the pond and watching birds flit from tree to tree.

The lower level has its own deck and it also houses the hot tub. Should you venture out for a day of skiing, hiking, rafting, or exploring the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, a long soak will unknot your tired muscles afterward. Of course, you can skip the physical activity and still treat yourself to a session in the tub's steamy, bubbling waters. You're on vacation-we won't judge!

The downstairs is also home to the game room. No need to drive into town at night in search of amusement: You can shoot some pool at the game room's full-size billiard table while watching TV or listening to music on the CD player. Idle Days has a library of books and board games too-there really is entertainment for all ages here!

The main floor's living room is another great hangout space. The plush roll-arm sofas are so comfortable, once you kick back you might never want to get up again! That's okay: You can watch your favorite cable channels on the flat-screen TV, surf the web, or stretch out for a nap. In winter the gas fireplace makes the room especially cozy and gives the wood floor, walls, and ceiling a welcoming glow.

The adjacent dining area can also accommodate the entire gang. The long farmhouse table seats 8 people comfortably; after you've cleared the dishes, bring out the Scrabble game and settle in for a tournament. Or make some popcorn and head to the living room for a movie, or whip up a batch of daiquiris and sip them out on the porch. So many options!

In addition to a blender for mixing those frosty drinks, the kitchen has plenty of other appliances, from oven/stove and microwave to coffeemaker and toaster. You'll also find all the cookware and tableware you could possibly need. And because nobody wants to scrub plates while on vacation, Idle Days has a dishwasher too.

When it comes to RnR, a comfortable bedroom is key. Idle Days has 2, one on each floor for maximum privacy if you're vacationing with another couple. Each bedroom has a king-size bed for sprawling across, a TV, plenty of storage, and direct access to one of the cabin's 2 full bathrooms. What's more, a sofa in the living room and the couch in the game room each open into a bed for 2, enabling up to 8 people to stay overnight.

Although Idle Days has just about everything you need to happily while away your vacation, there's plenty more to do just outside your doorstep. In the summer you can walk to the heated pools-one for adults and one for kids-of the Black Bear Falls Log Home Community. And any time of year you can drive to downtown Gatlinburg in just a few minutes, where you can enjoy miniature golf, an aquarium, and more. And let's not forget the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the country's most popular, with its hiking trails, waterfalls, wildlife, and wildflowers.

Sounds like a dream vacation, doesn't it? Here's your chance to make it a dream come true: Book your stay at Idle Days today!

My Dream Vacation

Great. I was able have my adult grandchildren come on vacation with me and enjoy family time with them. They went into town during the days and toured Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge whereas I was not able to do so since I'm not able to do all the walking. I enjoyed staying at the cabin and enjoyed the peace and quiet and my alone time. this was my dream vacation. I hope to bring my entire family up for weekend soon. Ann Echerd

My Dream Vacation

Wonderful. The cabin was gorgeous and clean. I enjoyed the front deck where I could sit and drink my coffee and listen to the creek trickle down through the woods while soaking up the sunshine . We had a beautiful view of one of the ponds. My adult grandchildren enjoyed the hot tub while having the downstairs to themselves. Ann Echerd
