Description

Romantic hideaways don’t get more delightful than Woodsong. Tucked among towering old-growth trees overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains, it’s a petite delight packed with plenty of comforts. And despite its private, away-from-it-all setting, it’s just a 10-minute drive to the restaurants, shops and attractions of downtown Gatlinburg.

Woodsong is decorated in timeless, elegant mountain style. Two oversize leather recliners offer a perfect vantage point for watching a movie on the flat-panel TV with cable and a DVD player or for gazing out the windows at the woodlands. The stone-surround wood-burning fireplace casts a golden glow on the lustrous wood floors in winter, and in summer the ceiling fan adds a refreshing breeze.

Because of Woodsong’s proximity to downtown, you have a vast array of restaurants to choose from: a steakhouse one night, a fish eatery the next, barbecue or pizza the night after. But for true romance, it’s difficult to beat a quiet dinner for two at home. The stools at the breakfast bar might remind you of a charming Parisian bistro, and the fully equipped kitchen means you can channel your inner Julia Child and create a multicourse feast if you’d like. Then again, even grilled cheese is romantic when enjoyed with the right person!

Thanks to the cabin’s open layout you’ll be able to watch TV and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace even while propped up on the queen-size bed’s pillows.

While Woodson's plentiful windows let you admire the scenery from indoors, the best spot for enjoying the sights and sounds of nature is the deck’s hot tub. Take a dip in the morning while chickadees and wrens serenade you; savor a moonlit soak late at night as owls croon a lullaby. And after a day of hiking, biking, white-water rafting, skiing, or exploring Dollywood, there’s nothing like a session in the hot tub to sooth your tired muscles and give you a second wind.

When you’re not relishing your time alone together among the beauty and comforts of Woodsong, you’ll find plenty to see and do just a short drive away. If you’re visiting in the summer, you’ll have free access to the nearby swimming pool, where you can relax on a poolside chaise when you’re not cooling off in the water. The cabin is also close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where you can hike among waterfalls, fish for trout, go biking or horseback riding… why, you could easily spend every day of your stay exploring the park! And let’s not forget the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an eight-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios, and craft shops offering everything from stained glass to chainsaw art, custom knives to pottery; Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area; golf; white-water rafting; Dollywood and more.

Woodsong truly is a gem of a cabin, offering privacy, beauty, comfort, and convenience in a petite package. See for yourself—book your stay today!

Bring a cot or blow up mattress and pillows

I would avoid this cabin. It's not terrible but it's far from great. The mattress is 10x worse then one at a motel 6 and the 1.5 pillows provided are really just make the experience unbearable. I considered leaving a night early just to sleep in a different bed. I also considered just putting a sheet on the floor as it would have been an improvement. The floors were dusty, someone's used bra and unswrware were in the closet, and the extra pillows which didn't have pillowcases had buggers or blood on it.

Cozy Cabin for 2!

The cabin set up is perfect for a couple. The kitchen has everything you could need for a weekend stay. The hot tub was a great addition. Of course, the location is up a mountain! The only big issue we had was dog hair left behind from previous renters. The comforter was covered and the recliner (which is broken on the right side). There isn\'t anyplace to put your luggage (and couldn\'t place clothes on bed or recliner because of the dog hair). A luggage rack or table would be nice by the bed. Since I had to put suitcase on the floor and when we left we had dog hair all over it. The bed could be more comfortable but that is a personal opinion as some people like hard beds.... Overall we would definitely come back and stay here again...

Beautiful but bring own basics.

Beautiful location, quiet, & clean but code to get in did not work and the after hours number was the same as the day time number. It took multiple calls with different options selected (Housekeeping worked) to get someone to assist us. Thank goodness it was not raining (no porch roof) for we were on the phone for about 20 minutes. BEWARE - Lock is flimsy at best. Hot tub was spectacular!! and the water pressure in the shower was great - especially being so far up in the mountain. Bed way too firm - almost slept in the recliners. The kitchen needs to be stocked with essentials. We brought our own food but there was no aluminum foil, baking dishes or even pot holders. When they say to bring your own spices they mean it - even the basics like salt and pepper. Loved being able to bring the dog but wished there was a gate on the porch so she could have been out there with us without being tied to a leash. We managed by using the chairs to block the opening. Internet connection is non-existent but the cable worked. We brought DVD's to watch but no DVD player. Overall we really enjoyed the cabin and would book it again.

Watch for bears!

Clean cabin and everything was convenient for us. The grocery store was close so we had everything we needed close. The only thing we I can think of inconvenient was the bears. We stayed for a week and saw a total of 3 bears (not all at once). Had to keep close eye on our dog. The bed was very uncomfortable too hard for sure. All in all we would recommend this place for others. Nice neighborhood.

Cozy little cabin!

Perfect little cabin in the mountain for two people. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It was great for my husband, dog, and I! It’s in a good location, only 10 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. The bathroom is large, but needs updated. The shower pressure is fantastic though. We would definitely stay again!
