Upcoming Events at Dollywood: September 2018

Comfortable temperatures and smaller crowds make for wonderful autumn visits to Dollywood. Visit in September or October, and you’ll enjoy shorter lines for your favorite rides, not to mention a variety of seasonal foods, decor, and entertainment. Whether you favor gospel music or Halloween festivities, you’ll rave about Dollywood non-stop after you’ve attended one of these special events:

Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup: The Ultimate Classic Car Event

Location: Splash Country, Dollywood
Dates: September 7-8

For over 35 years, the annual Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup has brought thousands of beautiful classic cars to Dollywood’s Splash Country. The ‘youngest’ cars at this year’s event will hail from 1972, but you can expect to see several models from previous decades. The grand prize? A 1932 Ford Hi-Boy Roadster from Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop. The runner-up prize isn’t too shabby: a cool $10,000. Even if you don’t participate, you’ll enjoy browsing a variety of impressive vehicles. Free event parking is available on Veterans Boulevard and the lot on Teaster Lane. Take the 50 cent trolley to Gate 1 or a free bus ride to Gate 2. Onsite indoor restrooms and a strict no-alcohol policy make this classic car event perfect for families with young children.

Enjoy a More Relaxed Theme Park Experience at the Dollywood Harvest Festival

Dates: September 28-November 3

Embrace autumn in the Smoky Mountains at the annual Dollywood Harvest Festival. Presented by Humana, the event brings lovely autumn decor to every corner of the park. Better yet, the festival attracts a variety of arts and crafts vendors from near and far. From clay jewelry to chainsaw carvings and even handmade fiddles, you’ll find plenty of unique items on display at charming exhibits throughout Dollywood. If you’re not into rides, the Harvest Festival gives you something else to enjoy at Dollywood. Stroll leisurely and take it all in as you enjoy the crisp feel of fall and the colorful leaves on the trees.

See Pumpkins in a New Light at Great Pumpkin LumiNights

Dates: September 28-November 3

An integral part of Dollywood’s Harvest Festival, Great Pumpkin LumiNights celebrates the whimsical side of Halloween with glowing sculptures, intricately carved pumpkins, and unique face painting. This allows you to experience the fun of Harvest Festival after the sun goes down. Sample pumpkin-themed foods and beverages as you take in spectacular displays. End an exciting evening with a boogie dance party featuring (you guessed it) more pumpkins!
