Get in the Spirit at Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas!

This year, jingle all the way to Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas, a multi-event extravaganza all aglow with four million (yep, you heard right – four million) lights along with holiday-themed rides, attractions, and shows including Dollywood’s A Christmas Carol, Dollywood’s special interpretation of the Dickens classic. It’s the perfect centerpiece of a holiday visit to the Smoky Mountains.

From November 7 to January 3, Dollywood is hosting festive holiday events that include Christmas superstars ranging from Santa to Rudolph to Ebenezer Scrooge. Here’s a sampling of what’s going on at Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas:

4 Million Beautiful Christmas Lights at Dollywood

See the Lights
If your family has a tradition of taking a Christmas Eve stroll around the neighborhood to see the Christmas lights, you can continue that tradition here – times a thousand. Each night of Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas, Timber Canyon lights up with a stunning show of color and music.

Christmas Parade at Dollywood

Watch the Parade
Need we say more? Dollywood’s Parade of Lights features tons of bright lights, Christmas characters, and floats galore. It’s a veritable explosion of Christmas cheer – if you’re not in the Christmas spirit after this, we’re afraid we can’t help you, Scrooge.

Meet Santa at Dollywood

Meet Santa
We guarantee you’ll feel like a kid again as you watch toys come to life, drop your Christmas wish list in the mailbox, or meet the big guy himself, all at Santa’s Workshop. Bring the camera and get ready to snap the perfect shot of your little one whispering his or her Christmas wishes in Santa’s ear.

Rudolph and Friends
Next on the holiday-cheer agenda? Meeting Rudolph at the Holly Jolly Junction where he’ll be hanging out with his friends Clarice, Yukon Cornelius, and Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster.

Holiday Shows
In Dollywood’s A Christmas Carol, a 15-member cast takes the stage as the three spirits of Christmas visit Ebenezer Scrooge and prompt him toward epiphany and redemption. If you’ve never seen Dollywood’s A Christmas Carol, make it your first viewing. With the charming cast, elaborate scenery, and period costumes, this clever take on a classic tale just might become a holiday tradition. We won’t spoil the surprise, but let’s just say that holographic technology brings someone special to the stage in the role of the Ghost of Christmas Past.

Other shows include O’ Holy Night and Dollywood’s original My People!, which tells the tale of Dolly herself: a small-town girl from Locust Ridge, Tennessee catapulting her way into superstardom with the help of her family members and friends.

Soulful Singing
After watching Dollywood’s top-notch productions, you’ll want to stop by and lend an ear to Pigeon Forge’s very own Kingdom Heirs as they sing soulful holiday gospel songs that you’ll find yourself humming long after the show’s over.
