The newest dinner theater in the Smoky Mountains region is Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures. Dolly Parton, who also owns Dixie Stampede, is no stranger to dinner theaters. The show is based on a friendly competition between the Parton family and the Owens. The audience is divided based on seat location and you will be expected to cheer on your family!
The new Smoky Mountain Adventures show is action-packed with a romantic storyline. Without giving too much of the story away, you will be transported back to the 1930s when Dolly Parton’s parents, Lee Parton and Avie Lee Owens, met for the first time. The love, devotion, and determined spirit of her parents is on full display throughout the theatrical performance.
Interlaced with the love story will be a fast-paced competition that involves the audience at times. Kids and adults alike will love the acrobatics and daring stunts that are woven into the storyline.
We recommend arriving early to enjoy Bass Mercantile with its antique arcades, dry goods, and old time player pianos. During the pre-show, there are specialty drinks and salty snacks available for purchase. While you are waiting for the show to start, consider purchasing a mountain makeover for the young ones in the group ($15.95 additional). The merchants will use make-up and costume accessories to turn your child into a mountain princess or mountain man.
Smoky Mountain Adventures Menu:
Similar to Dixie Stampede, there is enough food to feed an army. We recommend arriving hungry and ready to eat a feast! The meal includes homemade biscuits, vegetable soup, buttery corn, cabin taters, smoked pork, fried chicken, and a generous helping of southern peach pie. In addition, your meal includes unlimited pepsi, coffee, and tea. If you leave hungry, that’s your own fault!
