Mysterious Mansion of Gatlinburg, which has been in business since 1980, is the oldest haunted attraction in the Smoky Mountains. Don’t let its age fool you – the Mysterious Mansion was fully renovated and updated in 2015.

According to the legend, this house is haunted by the ghosts of a family that died there in 1903. In a series of tragic events, the family went insane, turned on one another, and killed each other. Ever since that time, the house has been haunted with paranormal activity that no one can deny!

Touring the three-story, 1900’s style Victorian mansion will take approximately 15-20 minutes, but it is self-guided and you can move at your own pace. Your experience begins in a creepy parlor and continues down a secret passageway. As you move throughout the Mysterious Mansion, you will be challenged to escape each room of the house.

One of the highlights of the Mysterious Mansion is the live characters – they are top-notch, stay in character, and our well trained on exactly how far to go. Throughout the haunted mansion the live actors will mysteriously appear, disappear, and frighten you and your group. The actors’ mysterious disappearances, great costumes and makeup, combined with the shock tactics will keep you on your toes!

Our staff does NOT recommend the Mysterious Mansion for most children under eight years-old. The intensity level combined with mild gore will likely produce a negative experience for younger guests.

Insider Tips:
-Are you looking for the scariest possible experience? During the month of October, the Mysterious Mansion of Gatlinburg and its staff dial up the intensity and gore.
-If there is a less mobile or disabled guest in your group, this is not the attraction for you. The attraction is located within an old house that has many levels, no elevators, and lack of lighting.
