On the hunt for a quick burrito in the Asheville area? Chipotle’s great, but sometimes, you crave something a little different (but just as convenient). You’re the perfect candidate for a visit to Neo Burrito, where you’ll find several tasty options beginning at 7 am and served until 9 pm.
No matter when you arrive, you’ll enjoy fresh ingredients from cruelty-free farms and ranches. Forget the artificial colors and preservatives often found at other chain restaurants; at Neo Burrito, it’s all about healthy, sustainable dining.
In keeping with the sustainability theme, Neo Burrito strives to encourage recycling when possible. The Biltmore Park location even boasts solar panels and a rainwater harvester. Unfortunately, the chain’s emphasis on eco-friendly behavior rubs some people the wrong way — mainly because staff members may be perceived as rude when enforcing the restaurant’s recycling policy. Most visitors, however, regard Neo Burrito’s efforts as admirable.
With its lovely location in Biltmore Park, the 2 Town Square Boulevard venue offers a more enticing atmosphere than some of the chain’s strip mall editions. Patio seating is available, so you can enjoy your burrito outside. Parking can sometimes be an issue — as is often the case in Biltmore Park — so if you’re on the road and want a quick bite, another Neo Burrito location may be preferable. If, however, you’re touring the area on foot or you work nearby, this location is definitely worth a visit.
The interior at the Biltmore Park version of Neo Burrito has an industrial vibe which isn’t quite in keeping with the brick exterior. The decor may appeal to some visitors, but others wish for something a bit homier. Because the inside can feel stark at times, the patio is easily the most pleasant place to enjoy your meal, as long as the weather cooperates.
A few of our favorite menu items include:
Keep it simple with an affordable, yet tasty breakfast taco. Neo Burrito’s version of this breakfast essential features the perfect ratios of eggs, cheese, and pico de gallo. It’s impossible to stop with just one, so order at least two or three for a satisfying breakfast.
If you’re feeling adventurous, try this unique take on the burrito concept. It comes with either chicken or steak, depending on your personal preferences. It’s also loaded with rice, sauteed onions and peppers, lettuce, sour cream, and most importantly…melted queso.
Beer-Battered Tempeh Taco
One of Neo Burrito’s several excellent vegetarian-friendly menu options, this taco will satisfying your cravings and deliver a nice protein boost. It features delicious beer-battered tempeh, plus cucumbers, lettuce, and wasabi sauce for an extra kick.
If you visit with a large group, don’t hesitate to order one of Neo Burrito’s many appetizers. This dip is especially enticing — and it’s way better than the typical potluck dip that comes to mind. It features beans topped with sour cream, pico de gallo, chipotle aioli, guacamole, and olives.
Almost everybody agrees that Neo Burrito serves quality cuisine, especially given the reasonable prices and generally quick service. If you’re willing to put up with industrial decor and the occasional rude employee, you just might find your new favorite burrito in the Asheville area.
