Ditch the usual grub tonight and try something completely out of your comfort zone. Your taste buds will be in for a true adventure at BimBeriBon, one of Asheville’s most promising restaurants. The fusion establishment blends elements of Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, and Persian dishes to form a truly unique menu that you won’t soon forget.

Although popular at lunch and dinner, BimBeriBon also serves an innovative breakfast menu. From porridge bowls to avocado toast, it offers everything needed to get your day started on a healthy and tasty note. No matter when you stop by, you’ll be pleased by the vast selection, especially if you have dietary restrictions — the entire menu is gluten-free.

In addition to its impressive range of starters, salads, and entrees, BimBeriBon offers a decent selection of alcoholic beverages. Beer lovers, however, will be disappointed to learn that the restaurant does not offer any brews. Ostensibly, this lack of beer stems from the establishment’s gluten-free approach. However, as some disappointed reviewers have pointed out, gluten-free beers exist. Still, cider and wine lovers can find plenty to keep them happy. The cider selection is particularly impressive, both in terms of quality and price.

In addition to wine and cider, BimBeriBon offers several craft cocktails. Favorites include the Green Tea Vodka Sour (featuring Bedlam Vodka, chilled organic green tea, and lemon) and the BiBiB Bloody Mary (also including Bedlam Vodka, along with tomato, pink peppercorns, carrot, and turmeric).

In the mood for caffeine? You’re in luck. BimBeriBon will wake you up with a selection of coffees and teas. Choose a standard such as an espresso, macchiato, or straight coffee, and spice it up with one of BimBeriBon’s house-made syrups. The restaurant also serves iced teas and superfood lattes with a variety of available add-ins.

The food and drinks at BimBeriBon may be unforgettable, but if you arrive on a busy night, your memories may be slightly tarnished by the difficult ordering system. You’ll need to select your favorites from the menu first, and then order at the counter. Next, you can visit the drink station to order your preferred beverages. Find a seat, and both your food and drink will eventually be brought out to you. Unfortunately, finding a spot can be a struggle when it’s busy, especially as reservations are not provided. If you’re not enthralled about the possibility of hustle and bustle, consider ordering for takeout.

A few of our favorite menu items include:

Russian Borscht Soup
No, it’s not what you’d expect to eat at a restaurant named BimBeriBon, but this soup is absolutely worth sampling. You’ll instantly feel comforted by this blend of hearty cabbage, collard greens, beets, and cashew crema.

Jian Bing
You’ve never tasted a crepe quite like this. BimBeriBon’s Chinese street-style crepe features chicken, greens, egg, cilantro, scallions, and sesame seeds. All this is drizzled with chili sauce and hoisin.

Japanese Mochi Cake
Long a hot item in Japan and now increasingly trendy across the pond, mochi cake has found its way to Asheville. This version features Mongolian BBQ short rib, cucumber, daikon, kimchi, and togarashi spice.

Moroccan Chicken Tagine
Get your fiber and protein for the day with this quinoa couscous dish, which also includes caramelized onions, cashews, carrots, and raisins. Herbs and lemon grant the meal an unforgettable Moroccan flavor.

Whether you’re craving Thai, Korean, Mediterranean, or a unique mix of all three, you’ll appreciate the innovative takes on familiar recipes that BimBeriBon provides. Come with an open mind, and leave with a full stomach.

Insider Tip:
The odd layout at BimBeriBon can be difficult to discern the first time you visit. When it doubt, ask a staff member where and when you can order. If you need full service, sit at the bar.
